  1. Hi thought it would be nice if there was an easily accessed repository/catalog of classic computers on here, but with a twist, all photos should be of High Quality and in large format (minimum of 10 MP) that way people could see every detail and nuance. When posting include the following details: 1) Brand 2) Model If you have extra detail like year of introduction that would be nice too. So post your own or scour the Internet.
  2. I don't know about everyone else here, but I really enjoy the current "Yesterday's News" and "Shift838" newsletters put out by both Sparkdrummer & Chris Schneider. Every issue gets printed up, assembled, read and carefully archived for future reference and re-reads. We also have a lot of old TI talent hanging out here at Atari Age, many of whom have written articles for their club newsletters in the past. Wouldn't it be great to see some PDF copies of their old newsletters and examples of some of their early articles/works? How about it guys? Care to share? I know I'm not the only one who would like to see your stuff. Who knows it might inspire more conversation or new stuff. There is PLENTY of endless space in this thread to post your stuff!
  3. MarkO

    From the album: MarkO's 001

My Book shelf, next to my Computer. Top Shelf, on the Left is Commodore 64, 128, in the Middle is Apple II, on the Right is Steve Jobs biography, K&R Second Edition, and Gary Larson's The Far Side and Rich Tennant's The Fifth Wave, and a TRS-80 Model I and II BASIC Tutorial ( I don't own either computer, but Computer Books are Computer Book ) Middle Shelf, Various Subject Matter, including Watcom SQL, D-COM, DirectX, UML, SQL, RedHat Linux, OS/2, CORBA, DB2, and Visual Studio 6. The "hidden" bottom shelf has some 1950's Hard Cover Robert Heinlein Books, a Danny Dunn and the Homework Machine, Ben Bova's The Dueling Machine, and a Story Collection edited by Robert Silverburg, all Discarded from a School Library, a Paper Back of Steven Levy's Hackers, C Programmer's Guide for Serial Communication ( covers CP/M and MS-DOS ), Embedded Multitasking ( with a focus on PIC Microcontrollers ) and some Catalogs..
  4. Hey Guys! I have a Windows 98 PC that has a Sound Card. It's not a Creative Sound Blaster card, it's just a generic one with a game port, input, and output for speakers. When I look in the settings, I see the files for it but I can't hear anything. Is there a nob or something that I don't know about? Or do I really need a pair of speakers for the Sound to work? I think I can just barely hear something, but I don't know if it's just me or if it's actually working.
  5. Post a photo of the FIRST computer you ever OWNED in it's least expanded configuration as "THEN". If you still have it, or re-acquired one, post a photo of it as "NOW"
