In this video I go over the LTO FLASH! cart that arrived yesterday. And I ask the question, where's an HD Intellivision clone console already?

Has anybody gone through the arduous process of typing up the Intellivision game manuals to be 20 characters wide for the LTO Flash? I did a few a while back, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel here.

Existing versions of the LTO Flash! User Interface Software for macOS will not run on the latest macOS update (version 10.15, a.k.a. Catalina). You can download a version that mostly works here. Known issues: No splash screen so there's no entertainment while you wait for the UI to load Does not display correctly in "dark mode" (note: this currently means it forces light mode for the app only, you should be able to keep dark mode on in your OS) Does not include a copy of jzintv When you download, just unzip it, then right click and choose "open" to launch (at least the first time). Thanks to @ColecoJoe for reminding me of this and being a guinea pig testing things out!

Many, many updates. Title lists the primary ones. It's shocking that it's been three years since the last official update already. In reality a lot of code has been written in that time. If you are purchase Ninja Odyssey or other LTO Flash-specific ROMs, I recommend you get this update. During testing, a bug in the UI was found that is fixed in this release. We found issues in both the cartridge firmware and the UI software. This is still a "beta" so you will not be prompted to download it if you launch the UI you already have installed. You can get it here: Windows (Vista and later): https://intvfunhouse.com/intvfunhouse/ltoflash/LTOFlash-Windows-1.0.0.4484.zip macOS (10.7 and later): https://intvfunhouse.com/intvfunhouse/ltoflash/LTOFlash-Mac-1.0.0.4484.zip Widows xp (really?): https://intvfunhouse.com/intvfunhouse/ltoflash/LTOFlash-xp-1.0.0.4484.zip As always, make a backup of your "Documents/LTO Flash" directory just in case. Consider this an open beta. This is fresh-from-the-oven code. Mac version is still 32-bit. Mac: Remember, right click to open the first launch, and it will also report that it's not optimized for your Mac. (That means it's still 32-bit.) Windows: Remember to "Unblock" the .zip file after you download it, and before you "unzip" it. If you really want, I can post details of changes. The gory details are automatically exposed when the version becomes "Current". I haven't invested a great deal of time on creating a way for INTV Funhouse to have "Stable" "Beta" and "OMG WTF" channels for the software. This time out, I mean to make this the "official" release in the next few days unless you users out there run into serious trouble.

You'll find a new version to test out in beta section of the LTO Flash! User Interface Software (LUI) here. macOS High Sierra (10.13): You must use this version, because older versions won't work. (grumble grumble... it's not me, it's you, Apple) Performance improvements for large menu layouts - especially when cart is connected Improved ROM metadata support The very latest version of jzIntv is included The improved metadata support - at least in the beta - will work when you add a new ROM. Haven't added a feature to automatically scan for the extra data for existing ROMs. Some brave and incredibly patient Mac testers have been of immense help. Thanks Intymike and ColecoJoe. Thanks to Lathe26 for catching the Windows bugs. If I've missed anyone, I apologize. This has been a long time coming.

Well dont' get nervous, it's just a small problem and it only accures to very little of homebrews when i play them on the Intellivision using LTO Flash (99% are ok). First John D's "Old School", i'm sure this problem won't appear on a cratridge because i have a idea where it comes from and since the machine had to be shut off before you can play another game their wont' be nothing which can produce this. however, if i run "Old School" (Old school High, Kid Robin Hood), the screen is garbled up and the sprites and background cards display something weird. to sad in this way it's not playable, or no fun to play it, you can see what happens but erm... Second, decles whole StudiVision project shows something quite similar on the background, the playfield itself is clean. here it's to see where it comes from (at least for the Studiovision, the problem of "Old School" could be caused by something else), you can define the characters used in the LTO Flash menu. for StudioVision it's not a big problem, you can still play the games, it's really only the background which shows this problem. but well it's a tiny bit sad. what you can't see: if you start any StudioVision game the screen will show a "faked" b&w "Mattel screen" (the palette), emulated all stripes appear, played via LTO on the real harware only one of the stripes is left. To say i expect it's not a problem of the LTO flash, i expect the games didn't proberly blank the graphical ram? (should i send out TRON to fix this? clearing the flags?). It will be no problem if it's the sole game in a emulator or a sole game as a cartridge, there will be no remnants of a former program. but maybe i'm wrong and someone has a solution for this. decle can certainly update his stuff, for "Old School" i'm not certain about. also i'm not sure how far the once downloaded "Old School" is identical to the released cartridge. these two are all problems that accured to me so far with the LTO Flash and homebrews. ...so far, i haven't tested all of them, "Old School" was randomly selected by me "let's see..." and StudioVision i certainly played. Star Wars, which is damned to easy anyway and even easier on my slower PAL console. while the concept of "Star Wars" i like, this sort of dogfight together with a docking sequence (move crosshair, correct velocity, imo the docking sequence should be no simple intermission scene) and buy this good - sell this good (e.g. king of the mountain, need so and so tons of hydrogene, food supply etc) can make a good game (do you remember "return to earth"?). well you can't procedural generate planets and whole systems, or maybe... if the idea is reduced to the non graphical stuff. a little of "star wars", a little of "lunar lander", a little of "King of the Mountain" and a little of "trollish comment generator" makes.... Elite for the Intellivision? Further: you can see that i have on my mothers TV the same "tearing in" issue, i still believe it's the VSYNC. as i reported on my old tube TV i can fix this by screwing on the proper variable resistor until the tearing vanishes. my mothers flatscreen i didn't like to open, also it seems more problematic to me to run and modify it because first i have to dismount the socket, but without a socket i can't put the TV upright to get on it's back and watch at the same time what happens on the screen. well the good old days when a tv's back was covered with tared cardboard and fixed without a single screw... yes it's dangerous this guy manipulates on the high voltage parts, blindfolded... (you have to watch the screen and fumble around in the guts of the tube, or use a mirror). it was stated that a manual adjusting of the channel can help. yes i know even this i know from the past, but as soon as the teraring vanishes the picture is bad and full of ghosts. I have no idea what's the proper solution for a digital TV, except to open it and hope that there is still this vr to adjust VSYNC.

The LTO Flash! User Interface Software (LUI) finally has an integrated jzIntv launcher! Is it actually ready? Maybe you'll help decide! Are there willing guinea pigs, or should I just unleash this update and hope for the best? Of note: Includes the very latest build of jzIntv (or you can point it to your own copy) You provide your own EXEC, GROM and ECS ROMs Integrated with 'LUI', you can easily choose a ROM from your ROM list and run it You can browse for other ROMs not in your list, too By default, LUI uses information associated with the ROM to determine jzIntv settings (if the ROM is in your ROM list) -- stuff like enabling ECS, et. al. You can customize command line to your heart's content if 'automagic' isn't your cup of tea Includes other bug fixes, too! There's even an update to the LTO Flash! firmware Available for Mac and Windows It's a bit different than Arnauld's UI, but hopefully still simple to use. If you're working on ROMs that use special features such as JLP flash, etc. you may find the rough edges. LUI does offer a way to help with this, via the 'Edit ROM Features' feature. Also of note: I haven't tested with keyboard hackfiles, or joystick configurations. I tend to play directly on the console almost exclusively. These options can be configured in the settings, of course - and as mentioned, you can forgo all the 'magic' and fully specify the command line if you wish. This was supposed to be ready for PRGE, but a hard drive failure a week before the show and other events conspired to delay this far longer than I'd hoped.

Hi. Can you clue me in on how to swap in/out 16k of ROM from the $C100 space using IntyBASIC compiling to the JLP architecture? I am using the $C100 section of ROM to hold an audio waveform sample, the rest of the game cartridge ROM I am using for game code and graphics and sounds (42k, its large). Once the waveform plays, I want to play a different one at a later point in the game, so a swap of some kind through IntyBASIC's JLP support I think would be the best move because playing would be transparent to the rest of the game code. Speed is not critical for the swap, just something that works. All ideas appreciated, if I'm way off in my suppositions I'll try other avenues. Thanks. (Based on the question I asked in http://atariage.com/forums/topic/253812-intybasic-how-do-i-upload-graphic-data-from-ram-to-gram/?p=3535223)
