  1. A look at some of the more RARE and EXPENSIVE big box PC games. There are games in here you rarely see out in the wild anymore. Big shoutout to local Seattle collector Kevin Ng for letting me borrow a bunch of these for the video. Anybody here on AtariAge collect Big Box PC stuff (C64, Amiga, Atari St, MS-DOS)...and what are some of your more rare or valuable games?
  2. Apple's infamous G4 Cube computer was beautiful but ultimately flawed. In this video I show its many quirks and why it quickly died at retail. These are definitely one of the more collectable Apple computers out there. I searched for almost 2 years to find one in good condition and complete in box with all the original speakers, power supply etc. Such a beautiful computer and I'm stoked to have it in my game room now! Any other fans of the Apple G4 Cube? What are your experiences upgrading it?

  4. I hung out with Al Lowe (Leisure Suit Larry, Freddy Pharkas, King's Quest, Police Quest, etc) the other day and it turns out he may have some of the only original copies of game source code for a lot of the those classic games. Now that he's in his 70s, he's selling a lot of his collection on Ebay and gave me a preview of what's to come. A starting bid of $100 for the original Leisure Suit Larry source?>! Hell yes!! LOL https://www.ebay.com/usr/al_lowe

  7. Straight out of the late 80s and early 90s, here is the official Nintendo Game Counselor Guide they would use to help people stuck in their NES and SNES games AND the official 1989 Nintendo Employee manual. This is a rare insight into the what it was like to work at Nintendo during the classic era! Did you ever call the Powerline? I did! A big shoutout to my buddy Emilio for letting me borrow this. It walked into his retro game & toy store in Renton, Washington recently...along with some other goodies
  8. Some games are so good they refuse to die and instead deserve another chance at life. Often it's just that they need updated graphics to be more modern...and other times they may need an entire overhaul from the ground up! In this video Metal Jesus & Kelsey list off some of the games they would like to see HD-ified for a new generation! Looking back on this video, I really wish I would have mentioned SOCOM 1 & 2 on PS2...Those games remade for PS4 would be amazing! What games would make your list?

  14. Obviously few people in this forum may need a Atari Lynx Buying Guide video...but I wanted to share mine here to see what you guys thought. Big shoutout to Marco (McWill) here on AtariAge for doing an awesome job on the screen mod! As for video capture, I could have probably just captured the VGA out on the modded Lynx but decided on just using OpenEmu instead for speed and convenience. I also purposely left out that there are two versions of the d-pad on model 1. I felt going to far into the weeds for casual viewers may bore them.
  15. Piko Interactive is a game development and publishing company that concentrates in the development of new games for old consoles. 17. In the mid 1990s, Nintendo announced the 64DD disk drive add-on for the N64 for the US market ....but it never came out. Instead the Japanese version of the drive crashed and burned upon release and it took all the hopes of US gamers ever buying one along with it. For almost 20 years it was consider a myth that an actual US retail version exists... until now. I have found a working prototype of the 64DD for the US market AND it contains a developer blue diskette inside of its drive. This unit is unique in many ways and in this video I tell you all the things that make it special...and what happens next... For the curious, I got this off Craigslist...but the person is shy and prefers to have their identity kept secret and I will respect that.

What are some of the more unusual controllers in your collection?

  23. Does SHELF APPEAL factor into any of your game purchases, or do you stick to only games you plan on playing? Example: say you stumble across a bunch of mediocre or outright awful NES/cartridge games that you don't have in your collection, but they're priced dirt cheap. Do you buy 'em up, thinking that expanding your NES collection would look that much more awesome on display? Fellow AA member SWLOVINIST joins me on this one!
