I just picked this up at Toys R Us this evening. A Pac-Man mini arcade made by Basic Fun for $16.99. It's LCD, but has the actual sounds from the arcade and even has the chase game mode the Coleco mini arcades had. My only nitpicks are that I wish they made the Pac-Man in it a bit bigger, the joystick is a bit stiff, and you only start with two lives! Also, the ghosts flash when you eat a power pellet, making them hard to locate at times. Even so, this game has had me sweating a couple times already and it will school you pretty well. Just like the original, it seems hard to get past the second round! It uses two AA batteries and I placed a AA beside it in the picture for size reference.

To all those owners of a PAL Pac-Man cartridge, I would appreciate it if you could upload photos of your game on original hardware to this thread, either by photographing the TV or with a capture device (I would prefer this one). It's for a project I have in mind. Thank you.

I borrowed an Atari/Sega adapter for my Intellivision 2 and Telegames Super Video Arcade consoles from a friend last month, and got some interestimg results. This particular adapter was made by Grips03 back about 3 1/2 years ago, and it really is opening opening up new possibilities for controlling games on the Intellivision- with even some very cool mice and trackballs. Check it out:

As you might have guessed I am a huge Pac Man fan when I first heard about Pac Man Museum Plus I knew I had to get it. Currently Nintendo on their eShop is offering the game for $19.99 plus 5 figures for your arcade as a Bonus was a huge plus for me. What you get Pac Man Super Pac Man Pac & Pal Pac Land Pac Mania Pac Attack Pac In Time Pac Man Arrangement (2 versions) Pac Man Championship Edition Pac Motos Pac'N Roll Remix Pac Man Battle Royale Pac Man 256 What I have found so far have been games easy to unlock and a lot of titles frankly I never heard of before, namely Pac In Time and Pac Motos and a few like Pac'N Roll that are quite fun. Even getting your arcade the way you want is fun, and having the Ghosts from the games as customers is fun too. Overall a great title. I hope Namco does this again with the other Pac games such as Ms Pac and Prof Pac.

Molasses Man, a Pacman clone created with the XB256 compiler. OK, that said, what is Molasses Man and why the weird name. Well, the game itself is rather OK and challenging. You Pacman your way through a maze avoiding the three ghost. Eat power pills, chase the ghost ect... The game itself I didn't create. It's a game from the old TI program exchange of long ago. I actually remember buying the cassette from the exchange seeing if I could do something with it. The game, Molasses Man, lived up to it's name. You can imagine how slow a Pacman clone written in TIXB would be. Yes, that slow. I attempted, at the time, in my youth, to speed it up. Made it from exasperating slow to just very, very slow. Zip forward a few decades and I came across the game again in a the Altman cache. I thought, hum, I wonder if this game would work if you compiled it? yup, it works, after some finishing touches, and it is FAST. Too fast, had to actually slow it down. Anyway, here it is. Have fun. Got this amazing book about the history of Pac-Man. This is probably the best thing I’ll get all year and it’s only February.

I was in Orlando for most of last week at IAAPA 2021, where I got to spend a bit of time with the latest titles coming to the market courtesy of the arcade industry. Contrary to various media reports, the death of the arcade has been greatly...well, lied about, as there are still many arcades out there who need new games. I posted one detailed report here if anyone is interested, which includes pics of the new Ice Cold Beer reproduction cabinet that is launching next year. I've got a lot more to talk about from the show, but I'm focusing on editing together videos that I shot there and will then post about it on the blog. For some vids that you may or may not be interested in: Anyone a fan of Cotton? Arcades getting an exclusive version of the new game: Interesting new idea for arcade basketball. Took a page from the Connect 4 Hoops game that is out there, but throws zombies into it Yes, there is a Mission: Impossible Arcade game You can't have an arcade tradeshow without a new racing game:

After experimenting for weeks I have found a way to get lag-free control on the 5200 digital games as well as a few of the Trakball titles with the X-arcade Tankstick and my custom Tron 80's Arcade Multicontroller (which includes a spinner). This is done with daisy-chained adapters/cables and all the components are currently in production, so it's possible for anyone to get this set up. In the presentation I show a number of 5200 games being played in ways you've not seen them played before on the 5200 including Pac-Man, Beamrider, Choplifter, Dreadnaught Factor, Meteorites, Star Trek, and Zone Ranger. Hope some of you can benefit from this:

I want to make a port of Grabber for the Atari VCS - for anyone who doesn't know what Grabber is: Grabber is an incredible game by Mike Huey that takes the PACMAN genre to the next level like Ed Averett did with KC Munchkin. Imagine a split screen pacman, one screen blue and one screen red, both mazes stacked on top of one other. Next imagine jumping back and forth between both to clear the mazes but the Monsters keep taking the dots and bringing them back to the center - oh year, you collect the dots and bring them to the boxes in the center of the mazes. Interesting note for programmers: This game was programmed like an Atari game with critical timing loops so the programmer could render the inspiring multi-voice music not otherwise possible simultaneously during gameplay on the Color Computer! Conversion notes: I want to make this Atari port scroll side to side with double wide mazes, two different ones. No scrolling up and down though because it would obfuscate Mike concept creation of the double playable maze. I plan to get rid of the rectangle placeholder, the game grids are small enough you can tell where you'll get transported to. Custom controller for Grabber: This custom controller will (obviously) be required for optimum Grabber gameplay: The Grabber controller was introduced when Grabber was released as a generic advertisment for Pacman as an add-on to existing Atari Joysticks with precision to handle mazes. This concept is based on the idea that a Joystick can control maze turning better than a gamepad; I agree and in the past I have disallowed Sega gamepads, but I will allow those to be used as well since some players, simply prefer the pads. Thoughts and ideas are welcome!

Hello from an Atari fan and collector of old stuff, About 20 years ago I came across, and bought at a yard sale, a cool Atari pac-man tournament t-shirt in Texas. It says it is from the first Atari 400 pac man competition in Texas. I am looking to sell it and am contacting various Atari associated groups to see if there is any interest. also, I would love to learn more about the tournament if anyone knows. I cannot find anything online about it. Thanks

Insert Coins and let the one-two punch of arcade nostalgia hit you right in your wardrobe. ARKADO RETURNS is a follow up to my first Kickstarter campaign, ARKADO, that was sucessfully funded and delivered in 2014. Like it's former, ARKADO RETURNS is a celebration of 26 vintage arcade titles that range from the beloved to the obscure. Can you name them all? This time ARKADO RETURNS with two designs presented in both Horizontal Mode and Vertical Mode, like the arcade screen orientation of the past. Like my previous campaigns, the goal is to fund a limited edition run of this artwork on apparel and print. If successfully funded, this limited edition apparel will be made to order for the backers along side a small batch run to be sold at conventions and shows. Like ARKADO, EFEMERECO, and WINNERS DON'T DRINK DRUGS, once all these shirts have been sold, no more will be made. The tees will be silk screened with Pantone 375 C and Reflex Blue C ink onto super soft, Bella Canvas 100% Cotton Baby Blue Unisex Tees. These tees are available in size EXTRA SMALL through 4XL. $15.00 for 1 or $27.00 for 2, Free Shipping in U.S.A. Claim yours at OneRadTee.com

You're caught in a combination of old video games - Berzerk, Pacman and Breakout in Mario world! Stay alive and strive for a high score before the timer runs out! Can you save the virtual world? I've added Flashback portable compatiblity, game plays well with two minor bugs: 1. You always start out with the fast ball and the slow ball, in Stella and the older consoles the very first play starts out with the slow ball, but subsequent restarts have both at once (relying on pre-initialized memory...) 2. The score is somewhat garbled, lazywriter paints it clearly on Stella and the older consoles - I'll look into fixing that at some point Pixels.bin
