Edit: Sold - thanks all! FS: Albert Odyssey RPG for the Sega Saturn - US Version from Working Designs. I believe this will be reasonably below going prices for the condition. Adult owned and the disc appears to be blemish-free. Played completely through some years back with no issues - still boots fine in my US Sega Saturn. Manual with registration card, disc and original case. I don't have the foam insert. I will put the disc in another slim sleeve to better protect it and will fill the interior with padding to keep the case as pristine as possible (these things are fragile). Asking US$150 via PayPal and that will include shipping anywhere in the lower USA (no international on this one please). I've given up on the gouging of eBay a couple of years ago but I had 1000+ perfect feedback - I'm an honest seller and expect a good honest buyer. Thanks for looking!

I started a Sega Saturn instruction manual scan project over at The Cover Project: http://www.thecoverp...hp?topic=6791.0 Today, I started up my Sega Dreamcast project, and with it being Halloween, I queued up all of the "horror" related games: http://www.ratigators.com/ From here on out, I'll be pulling one from each end of the alphabet (similar to what I did/still doing for Sega Saturn). I also got a jump start on my Sega CD project, clearing out the "horror" themed games there as well.

I was just wondering why there are no Sega Saturn discussions on this wonderful forum? Every console under the Sun except this it seems. Just wondered why or does literally nobody like it or have anything to say about it LOL

Hi. I have 2 sega saturns that I got off ebay. Both were listed as non working/not tested. saturn A had a bad laser and saturn B had this other issue. Saturn B would read the games no problem and then load them (I tested it with a real copy of all star hockey) the sega license screen would show, then the SEGA sports logo would show, then it would stay black and the disk keeps spinning. I then took the laser (whole assembly) out from saturn B and put it into saturn A and it worked perfectly. I even flashed an action replay cart with pseudo saturn and saturn A was able to play all the burned games I threw at it (North american and international). When I put all the lasers back in their homes and tried to boot some of the burned games I had on the Saturn B with the pseudo saturn cart in it, only 2/12 games fully booted. Policenauts and Galactic Attack. I really dont think it is a laser issue because I tested out the laser and it works fine and then I bought two new lasers for them and installed them. Saturn A works flawlessly with the new laser but saturn B still does the same thing. it does read and boot games but stops after the sega licence screen. What else could be wrong with it. Maybe a crystal oscillator is not working, or is it in need of a recap? or maybe something else? Just for reference saturn A is a VA SD and saturn B is VA7 both ntsc north american Thank you for any help.

So for some reason the SNES has skyrocketed and I don't know why, but I can't justify paying $100 for a working console so I figured I'd see if anyone here has an extra one they wouldn't mind parting with. Edited: This is still for sale or trade but I picked up an SNES so if you're up for trading, I'll go for working a Sega saturn. Hoping for a controller and connections but can source those on my own if necessary, especially since the pi top needs it's own charger. Read below. I have a working piTOP laptop and a raspberry pi 3b for trade. It works but you'll need a charger. Universal would work fine with the right tip. It's nothing funky. Probably the same size as Asus or toshiba or similar. There is a crack in the plastic by the track pad. These things are finicky to open. It has absolutely no impact on functionality but it is there. It has a built in battery so it doesn't need to be on a wall plug all the time. It charges just like a regular laptop. I'll include an SD card with piTOP os on it but it still gets updates from the company. You can download them easily. I'm looking for an Sega Saturn console. It doesn't have to have a game but at least one would be nice. I just need a console that works. Anyone willing to help me out? Prefer to trade for Sega saturn but will sell too. Sold. Ended up picking up a couple of saturns locally for the sale of this one. Woop woop!!

Type 2 Sega Saturn Phoebe Board with 128GB MicroSd
Jaymiester posted a topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have a Type 2 Sega Saturn Phoebe Board with a 128GB Sandisk Extreme MicroSD looking for a new home. Card has Rmenu V0.2 preinstalled and is configured for NTSC-U games. I'm not greedy, just looking to break even on this after material costs, shipping and fee's. $200 shipped, using USPS Priority Mail in the US. Information on determining your Saturn type and installation instructions can be found at https://gdemu.wordpress.com/details/saturn-details/ -
Hey everybody, I have about 60 games listed for the systems in the title. The games are mostly complete or factory sealed and there are some real finds included. All auction-style listings start at $.99 with cheap and combined worldwide shipping. Here's the link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/nebrazca78/m.html?item=133421890332&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks! I loaded Shinobi Legions and have been relearning it for that past 2 nights. I have not played it for a LONG TIME. Probably not for 10 years or more. Quick take: it is pretty awesome and fun! Its funny to me, I remember taking note of the game's load times when it was new. Well , compared to Genesis cartridge gaming, yes there are some load times, but after playing modern games for so many years, Shinobi Legions' load times now seem negligible to me! The game is more fun, with better control, than I had thought. But last night, it locked up on the first boss. Then no disc would load - it appeared my Saturn would not spin the disc anymore or something. Was the laser gone? Did some mechanical doodad finally wear out? So I unplugged it, shot high pressure component-cleaning air into it, and then turned it upside down and did it again. BANG my Saturn was working fine again. Not sure how or why. I have been relearning patterns and subtleties of gameplay. This Shinobi plays differently than the Genesis games, even the ninja powers aren't accessible in the same way as before. There are different sword swipes you can pull off - press up + button, or up/right diagonal + button, or forward with button .. all different swipes. The animation is very good and overall its quite fun ... and HARD. I got to the boss on the mountaintop , after climbing hand-over-hand on vines and killing massive snakes and avoiding cannons. I can't remember if I ever got past this level or not, its like a new game that I've never played before. The in-game music is excellent. And although I used to mock the FMV's, I now find them very entertaining in a 'cheaply made' bad sense, and yet there are a few surprises in the cut scenes. One of them is when all the ninjas and a girl actually jump / spectacularly dive off a cliff into the sea - with real people! The cliff looks to be over 20 feet high!

I have a Sega Saturn collection I would like to list through here on it's way to parts unknown. If you have items you are looking to trade let me know. I like interesting stuff. I collect mostly for 2600, NES, and Genesis/CD/32x. Books/magazines/swag from these eras are always high in interest for me. This first group of games was picked up in an auction and at one time must have belonged to a rental place. They are disc only in a case like those common to rental stores of the time. All games show light use but are all playable copies. Loose Games: The Crow City of Angels (has center ring sticker from rental location) $15 Virtua Cop $3 Virtua Cop 2 $10 Sega Touring Car Championship $4 Defcon 5 $7 Blazing Dragons $8 Scud The Disposable Assassin $4 Congo The Movie The Lost City of Zinj $7 Virtua Fighter 2 $3 The Need for Speed $5 In the Hunt $45 Battle Arena Toshididen Remix $4 The Lost World Jurassic Park $4 Heir of Zendor $5 Croc $8 Spot Goes to Hollywood $5 Iron Storm $25 Rampage World Tour $25 Arcade's Greatest Hits Atari Collection $5 I'm happier to negotiate the more you are buying/trading. Shipping is on you.

Hey all, selling off this batch. They are all largely in great to near mint condition, but I detailed any seen flaws below: Valkyrie Profile (PS1) - Two stress cracks on back, no manual, light surface scratches on disc 1. ($115) Fatal Fury Special (SCD) - Light crack on front case ($190) Mystaria: The Realms of Lore (SAT) - Cracked spine/hinge, no foam insert. ($55) Keio Flying Squadron (SCD) - Light fold in top corner of spine card. Comes with pictured case protector. ($1400) Please PM if interested. Offers can be negotiated, but cash is preferable. I'm based in DC and prefer local buyers. In the case of Keio, I am only taking local buyers until further notice. I'll update as items are sold. Thanks and happy holidays!

I've got 13 Saturn controllers. The most anyone needs is 12 for NHL One of those controllers is a third 3D Controller. Does any game require both a 3D controller, and a 6-Player Adapter? (and not hard require, but improve the game in circle pad and/or analog trigger mode.) What is the largest number of 3D controllers I need to operate all Saturn games? I do have an Action Replay, so I can play games in any region, so include any game from any region. But try to find games that are not language dependent if there's no English option. A quiz game is highly language dependent, so don't include that. A grey area would be Chu Chu Rocket in a different language, where the question mark mouse would bring up a mode that displays a speech and text of the mode, and the first few play through you would have no idea what is going on, but as you get used to it, you can tell by the music and sound effects what mode you're in, but you'll be a couple seconds behind the computer in comprehending it. Finally, I know Golden Axe the Duel requires the standard controllers, because the analog triggers don't play nice, even in + mode. But most games work with a 3D pad as a standard controller in + mode. Are there any other Saturn games anywhere in the world that requires the standard controllers and doesn't work with the 3D Pad, even in + mode? Golden Axe is at most 2 players. Are any of them more than 2 players?

Now before I go any further, let me actually this: I am NOT talking about a Saturn mini the way we have w/ PS1 Mini or SNES Mini. I truly adore Sega's systems (except maybe the 32X, but even that has Tempo and Virtua Racing Deluxe) and think the Saturn's both a marvelous platform AND is finally starting to pick up some mass-market awareness....but I don't think a Saturn Mini would sell enough to justify the production costs. Basically, knowing the Saturn itself only did about 9-10 million LTD, and knowing these Minis aren't selling anywhere near the volume of their original runs anyway...I just don't see a $100 Saturn Mini doing like 1 million (maybe more if lucky) would justify the costs. That having been said, I think there's room for Sega to do something genuinely interesting. Let's be real here; these Minis have a pretty big deficit against mini-PCs; yeah the mini-PCs don't necessarily look all that good (Dreamcade Replay anyone?), but for the price of a PS1 Mini, w/ a Dreamcade you're at least getting a much better CPU and iGPU, so if you hack them, you can run games from later platforms relatively easily. However, mini-PCs are staunchly non-upgradable, aside from maybe expanding their internal storage. Once you get them, you're stuck with what's there, and if you need more power, you'd either buy the latest mini-PC or just get a refurbished desktop PC (or if you're willing to splurge, build a gaming PC from the ground-up). This is where I see Sega and whoever they partnered with, have a good opportunity. They already have embraced porting lots of games on PC, and Steam support for MegaDrive is amazing. They've embraced mods and the Workshop feature is a stroke of genius. I honestly doubt they could do anything in a closed-off "Saturn Mini" that could approach that level of flexibility and reliability, without strong compromises. So what I'm suggesting is that maybe Sega look into selling something like a mini-PC Saturn-inspired replica system case, have a populated motherboard with expandable RAM, CPU options, internal storage, a Saturn-style top loading disc drive (but obviously much faster than regular Saturn disc speed reads), maybe even pack in a Retro-Bit controller. The user would have to supply their own CPU, RAM, extended storage etc. but it has the usual things onboard like ethernet port, USB ports, a microSD slot, SATA III connector, maybe even a PCIe port or two built on the underside (or a Thunderbolt port for external GPU hubs). Maybe they can provide a few Saturn games pre-installed on internal NAND the user can then transfer to extended storage, and put a licensed version of something like Medafen on NOR Flash so it can execute from there effortlessly. Since the user is providing the big components (power supply, CPU, RAM, storage etc.) it'd essentially be like building a custom PC, but in a mini-PC form, targeted at Saturn fans whom, let's be honest, tend to already be more of the hardcore types and aren't probably shy about messing around w/ PCs given all the bs you had to do in the past to get stuff like Saturn and Model 3 running decently on systems of the past. They could easily come in at a great BOM and still sell for say $99-$120 (if the controller would add too much, then make a version w/ a pack-in controller and one without). That would mean a motherboard probably not spec'd for the most demanding i9s or Threadrippers, but those people are likely going to want to build something of a beast in a full-tower case. I'm just talking something that can support the affordable x86/x86-64 CPUs of the moment, support maybe lithium li-on battery (bonus points for being rechargeable and playable w/o being plugged in, saving on yet another power plug if the user'd want), and most of all nailing the Saturn aesthetic and feel, at an affordable price to those looking to jump in on building say a low-or-mid-spec'd PC in a mini form factor (or add a eGPU through Thunderbolt or a PCIe GPU if they want more power, both of them would require their own power supply however). Really interested to hear what you guys think; mini-PCs are only going to become more prolific as time goes on, but there'll always be power players who want the advantages of customization desktop and even laptop PCs offer. Something marrying them both, especially in a design inspired by a game console, could be a game-changer and it'd effectively be a perfect bridge between the mini consoles, mini PCs, and deskop or custom PCs.
