  1. Not really sure what this is worth, B]but I thought I would start to sell this here. I was thinking of 50$ let me know if that is to High or to low. It is in great condition and works well. Has the original box and packing. Thanks, Brad
  2. Hello to every Lynx fanatics, Is there a good game designer, pixel artist ready to invest some(a lot ...) time in a homebrew project ? I am a hobby developer but have sadly no design skill and knowledge. I have a beginning of a raycasting engine which needs contents. I attach the current dev. status(game.zip) so you can figure out if you'd like and are ready to enroll. If you do please PM me. Even if you don't feel like an artist's soul, any ideas, suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
  3. Like most of us, I've always loved the Atari 2600 artwork used on the boxes/labels. Tim Lapetino's book was a major event when it came out - shedding light on so many artists and their work. One publisher's artist seems to be a mystery though - that being Commavid. The early artwork (Video Life, Cosmic Swarm) is nothing to write home about but I love the style of later games like Mines of Minos (a real hidden gem game in my opinion) and Cakewalk etc. Searching around the internet I can't find any mention of the artist though. Looking at the signature on some of the boxes gives some pointers, but I'm not particularly good a deciphering these. Probably the clearest example is on Minos below: Does anyone have any info on the artist or want to take a stab at guessing the name ? I'm pretty certain the first name is 'Jack' but the second is not clear enough - maybe 'Bray' or 'Berry' ?
  4. Maybe I have missed the answer to this question. I've looked through the old threads about who did Atari 2600 box artwork, and of course the Art of Atari book thread (which will answer most of the questions anyone has ever had about Atari's art and artists), but does anyone know who created the box art for the first wave of Activision games for the Atari 2600? I'm asking about the artworks with the bold and simplistic line art, the bright solid colors, the rainbow motion stripes, etc. Perhaps they were the work of a single artist, or perhaps the style was art-directed with multiple artists employed. Do we know who did the art, who was art director or packaging designer, who designed the Activision logo, etc.? The only bit of knowledge I have is that the typeface used on those designs looks to be Futura Bold (or some similar weight of Futura). Any info, or pointers to existing forum threads or external sources of information, is very appreciated!
  5. Be gentle....venturing out from the the safety 8BIt HSC forum I'm working on the graphics for a game we are planning. I don't mind using AGS or MadSudio but I do like the drawing tools available and in Photoshop. So I was wondering (if its possible) to draw in Photoshop and take the save product across into MadStudio and after which I can pass the code onto the programming department (TRBB). Anyone know what settings PS should be set up with to achieve this ? Cheers for now, RT 8-bit High Score Club http://atariage.com/forums/forum/60-8-bit-high-score-club/
