I checked the Nintendo store and the OEM high capacity battery is sold out. They probably won't bother to make more. Prices have already spiked on ebay into the hundreds. Do we have the next Gamecube component cable here? Luckily there are a few 3rd party options on Amazon, one as high as 3600 Mha, but being 3rd party who knows what the durability is on those..

Sony's stance on the batteries in their PS3 controllers is simple: If it dies, then you need to replace the whole controller. Anyone who has taken more than 2 seconds to look into this though knows this is nonsense and one can easily replace the battery..... issue is, since Sony's stance on it is "It's not user-replaceable", they don't sell replacement batteries.... which means you have to rely on a 3rd party to get one. And the issue with THAT is that nearly all of them are garbage. Tons of replacement batteries on Amazon and other sites... but many of them have reviews of people complaining the battery overheats, or didn't last half a year, or plenty of other such problems. Sure, the majority of reviews might be 5/5 or 4/5... but nearly all of those were written nearly immediately after getting the product, not after they have had the product for a while. It's a total crapshoot... with the odds not being in your favor... if any 3rd party battery you find is decent quality or not. That's why I am asking here. Is anyone aware of any DS3 3rd party batteries that are actually good quality and reliable?

Sort of a weird question, but does anyone happen to know the specs and make/model of the battery in the Hyperkin Retron 5 Controller? The reason I'm asking is 2 fold. A friend donated a controller which had a busted battery (which he conveniently threw out...clever I know) and I'm looking to get a replacement battery. Also, I have a Retron 5 system coming from the US as a Christmas gift and of course Australia post won't let me get the thing shipped without a Material Safety Data Sheet. I would appreciate even just a pic of the thing with some code numbers to start investigating, but if anyone knows more about it than that, the info would be much appreciated. Thanks (ps I know people hate the controller, but I actually quite like the stick) (pps... this pic is my only lead, found on another forum... green is possibly the battery.... credit to Ellie Doodle on Element14 for the pic)

Hi all. First time here, hope to find help - i'm pretty new to cleaning retro electronics, so help would be most welcome :-) I've just bought a Ti99/4A from 1981 (silver) and it works fine, but is in dire need of a good cleaning. Do you have any good advice before undertaking this task (related to the Ti99/4A)? And on a more specific note, does anyove know if there is a CMOS battery to be aware of? Thanks!

Received a brand-new SIDE3 on Monday. Straight out of the box, I upgraded it to version 0.40 of @flashjazzcat's firmware and installed an 8GB Kingston Micro SD card (class 10, U1) in an adapter. Everything seems to work fine in terms of cartridge loading functionality. However, the RTC seems to lose a significant amount of time - about 20 minutes per day, give or take. At this rate, it looks as though a loss of about 2.5 hours / week will be the rough average. The battery is presumed healthy as it reads dead-on 3 volts outside of the cartridge. Use is in a 600XL with a 64K internal RAM upgrade and an 800XL with both an internal 256K RAM upgrade and UAV. Both machines are powered by 5V 2.5A USB power supplies (ex-RasPi) through cable adapters from the usual suspects. Any thoughts? I'm at something of a loss to explain it.

The battery in my Gameboy Micro is dying after 14 years. I'm in the United States, so if anyone happens to have an extra battery, let me know. All the ones on eBay are in China, except for one and it's 3 times the price. They are also all aftermarket and I'd like to have a good original battery.
