I got way too many projects on my plate so I just don't have the time to create cartridges for this game. plus i'm already working on a much better version and some 7800 games. therefore, here is the download of Parsec 2600 .bin. maybe one day I will make cartridges. Legal: I own this game so please do not repost on other sites without my my approval. also don't sell it. parsec2600v13.bas.bin instructions: simple shooter. at bottom left is max ships left (shows up to 4). start game with 8, 1st wave is swoopers. timer on right to clear level.higher levels you must hit up to 3 times to clear. next is beamer. it shots at you. timer on right. .higher levels you must hit up to 3 times to clear. next is refueling tunnel. no shooting in here. just make it through to end. higher levels tunnel gets longer. backwards swoopers. like swoopers except come from behind you. next is invisible beamer. it shots at you. starting level 2 the ship goes invisible. .higher levels you must hit up to 3 times to clear. finally is meteor swarm. you just have to avoid them. now next level. if you switch A to pro at beginning you can choose the level and how many ships. He has done a really nice job on the cartridge and manual. The game has swoopers, backward swoopers, single Bynite type enemies, meteor shower and even a refueling tunnel. I had a lot of fun creating this version of TI-99's Parsec for the Atari 2600 and I think it turned out alright. It's a limited run of about 20 at a price of $25. I can't wait till I can put my Parsec 2600 in my 2600. There's just something about having a physical cartridge with label, manual and all. FYI: I also wrote the manual. HLO

  4. I played the cartridge version of Parsec and the GROM emulator version (off my CF7) last night and the real cartridge 'seemed' slightly more responsive. Was that true or am I just seeing things? IS there any difference between the two.
  5. been asked by some people to post an update on my progress of a TI-99 Parsec for the 2600. I'm programming it in multi-sprite kernel. started with DPC+ but kept running into problems. probably because i was trying to do too much at once. my revisit the DPC version later. What I have below is the urbite, dramite module. single attack ships. it's really not too finished and if anyone has some suggestions, feel free. no, the ground does not move, too many cycles for that. changes from the TI-99 version, timer instead of re-fuel cave (no scrolling ground) and overheat your laser does not blow up your ship you just have to wait till the laser cools to shot again. (I always hated that feature in the game. I mean really, who would build a ship to blow up if your over heat your laser). I working on the meteor module, swooper module and the backwards ship module to but they are very unfinshed. will have each module in a separate bank when doneX2.basX2.bas.bin.
  6. So my TI-99/4A has been acting up lately. In some games, like BurgerTime or Parsec for example, the system will lock up. Sometimes it will just stay frozen, sometimes the console reboots, and sometimes random graphics corruptions and characters appear all over the screen. I should also mention that sometimes when powering on it will lag for a few seconds longer than normal before getting to the main screen, and there is no beep when that happens. Probably unlikely, but is it possible that the power board is failing? Thanks in advance! P.S. I've also found that pressing on the middle of the top at the back will cause the corrupted graphics as well.
