  1. I've been working on a new (well, it's been going on a while) project to bring a new game to the Atari. It is currently called "Escape the Night Garden" and can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYArkNuj0L8 I would like to thank Miker for the music, I came across this track and just loved it, so I asked him if I could use it and he was happy to allow me to use the track. Thanks Miker! Please don't be too harsh, it's my first attempt at programming a full game in MADS. A lot of work still needs to be done to get it into a working game. It'll basically be a game where you have to get out of the maze (night garden in this case) by flicking switches in the right order and avoiding enemies (when they're fully programmed), I just need to get past a programming problem with MADS structs. I'll better the graphics later, add a title screen, DLI's for more colour, extra levels, sprite animation, possibly more music if memory allows, additional fonts for more varied graphics and add a status bar at the bottom. At the moment you can also walk through walls, obviously that needs to be sorted. Levels (24 screens) are compressed down to around 450 bytes. That'll take up more when colour schemes, disappearing doors and enemies are implemented.
  2. Hey everyone, Back then, Richard Williams had a dream. He promised to make the greatest animated film of all time. It took 30 years just to get close to finishing the film. Unfortunately, it never was finished. Only 85% was done, and then the film was taken from Richard William's hands. It was finished by other people, but butchered beyond relief. Several scenes of amazing animation were cut, and third rate songs, voice-overs, and animation were put in. Richard Williams created a work print before Thief was taken from him, and that reflected his vision. It has been horribly bootlegged to death though, and many copies are almost literally unwatchable. But, in 2006, a man named Garrett Gilchrist created a nonprofit restored version called The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut. This version has many old deleted scenes, and many discovered storyboards and pencil tests. He is still updating the film, and is planning to release a Mark IV version for free online sometime next year. Please help spread the word and support this great man. I am only a fan that is trying to create awareness. Here is his youtube channel. You can watch the whole Recobbled Cut for free. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheThiefArchive And this is also his official production website. He has several other projects and a forum as well. You can even donate too. http://orangecow.org/ Have a great day everyone, and please enjoy and preserve this lost masterpiece of animation.
  3. As promised, our new little side-scrolling shmup is released today at Sommarhack party in Sweden. They'll be far too busy BBQing anything they can lay their hands on to play the few Jaguars hidden among all those expanded ct6x falcons so we though we'd better make a post here and offer it for download. Head over to the new Reboot website for further details and downloads in all formats. There are also two different DVD covers and accompanying CD labels to grab, courtesy of Felyx - thanks to him! Massive thanks to Pac Man Plus whose discussions & assets helped get this game off the ground in the first place and whose 7800 game inspired our own - cheers, Bob! Are you ready to button bash like it's 1981?! ps Don't feel too upset if this old classic isn't your cup of tea... we have something else in the pipeline that is much, much, bigger, better, harder, faster, stronger... our work is never over
