A8 users... Where do you live

Recommended Posts

44 years old, located Courcelles in BELGIUM (just added to the map, thanks Philippo ;-)

A8 user since 1981 (600XL+1010 followed by a (1982) 800XL & 1050 artist touch tablet and plotter :-)

PS : I know two -already- A8-users friends located at about 10 miles from my home, but they only speak french and german so they're not on AtariAge records :-/

Hi! I don't think it was possible to own a 600XL in 1981.

No I wrong, 800 & 410 in 1981, 600XL in late 83 an 800XL in 1984. due to my grand age.

DearHorse at our age I'm happy to remember that I even -had- an Atari, muchless when I had it.

(Like you A800 & 410 in 81)

Yup, I started with an 800 & 410 in 1981 (at the age of 11), and got an Indus GT a year later. Boy I loved those days!

I'm 43 and have been an Atari User since I was about 13.

My dad bought an Atari 400 and 410 tape recorder and of course I took it over pretty quickly like all kids would!

I wrote many programs in Atari Basic, but alas now most of them have been lost... :(

Cheers to all

Rob

Hi,

At the moment I'm 31, and a few days ago I moved to another apartment in the same city (Gent, Belgium).

A few weeks ago google streetview was (finally) legalized here in Belgium. Here's a streetview of my home:

Got my 800XL when it first launched in 1983 and an Indus GT that Christmas. I'm 44.

Originally from Nepean Ontario (part of Ottawa now) Canada. Currently living in rural south Ottawa.

Just set up one of my 8-bits for the first time in nearly 20 years. I have a 130XE, an 800XL (maybe a couple of broken XL's as well) and an XEGS along with the remnants of a once awesome array of hardware (sadly much was sold in the late 80's).

It seems I'm the youngest here :)

Currently I'm 15 and I live in Prague, Czech republic.

My first Atari was in 2009, almost never used, boxed 800XE with XC-12. It didn't even have turbo 2000 installed in it, so only way to load games was slow tape. I always wanted SIO2PC, I've made MAX232 version of it, but it never worked. Luckily on may of this year I've finally got it to work (75C189 version). After finding that most newer games/apps require atleast 130XE to work, I had to buy one :-D. Now my dream is to collect every type of 8-bit Atari, because I think they're much better than nowdays PC's (but still love my 486 notebook which was my first computer :)
