Mouse on 800XL?

Recommended Posts

Since the trackball pictured is a drop-in replacement for the ST mouse, it already works with the GOS. Any device which works differently will require a driver, but that's hardly a problem since the drivers for human input devices are generally rather simple to write.

Does the Last Word (or any other productivity app.) support a mouse?  And I also seem to remember a mouse adapter by Mytek. (??)

If Jon ever returns to his GOS and finishes it, I bet he'll do at least a basic port of the text-only version. :)

In the meantime, the GOS work-in-progress version itself is fun to play around with. With @mytek's mouse adapter as implemented on the XEL and XLD boards, the mouse functions like an Atari Trak-Ball. That means you can play Missile Command and several other TB-enabled games with your mouse.

Evil as I am, I am using the BEST trackball, which looks like a trackball, but works like an ST or an Amiga mouse.
