+atari2600land #1 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) I invite you to get in the Halloween spirit a little early and play this little WIP (#AE03) which will be a limited edition release released by Shawn Sr. on October 1 (just in time for Halloween.) I plan to limit this to 4k, and I don't have a price set yet. (everything is still in the early stages.) There's 10 screens so far. So, what do you think so far? hh061007fourk.bas.bin hhinst.txt Edited July 9, 2007 by atari2600land
Nukey Shay #2 Posted June 10, 2007 Interesting...sort of like Jammed. All 10 screens work, BTW
Jess Ragan #3 Posted June 11, 2007 Aegis, someone needs to pimp your logo! I'm sure Nathan Strum or Random Terrain could do it for you if you asked nicely. JR
+atari2600land #4 Posted June 12, 2007 Aegis, someone needs to pimp your logo! I'm sure Nathan Strum or Random Terrain could do it for you if you asked nicely. JR I did it in Microsoft Paint. I don't really have any fancy-schmancy stuff like Photoshop. Let's just call it at this point a sketch of a logo I'd like. So what do you think about the game? +atari2600land #5 Posted June 12, 2007 Nothing really new. I've decided to bump the size back up to 8k, with the second bank filled with a bunch of mazes. (I'm running out of colors to make the PF for each level, though!) Also cleaned up the title screen a little bit. I'll make one or two new levels soon. I have, however, dabbled with a logo design for your company. I'll post it later today. JR
MausBoy #9 Posted June 13, 2007 I was thinking "eh, black background, two sprites, not my style..." but then I played it, and the concept is really, really good. If I had your imagination for gameplay I'd get so much farther with stuff. I guess I should stop being surprised that your games are fun and innovative, huh? Jess Ragan #11 Posted June 13, 2007 Ooh, this game drives me bananas! It's good for what it is, but I'm more of a fan of intense action myself. Definitely one to look into if you like putting your brain to work, though. JR
Jess Ragan #12 Posted June 14, 2007 Kind of rough, but here's an idea I had for the logo. JR

+atari2600land #14 Posted June 18, 2007 Kind of rough, but here's an idea I had for the logo. JR That's pretty good, if the top corners were squared, it could be used on a shield (the original Aegis logo design; Aegis is the shield of Zeus in Greek mythology. Many thanks to my huge red dictionary for the definition.)
+atari2600land #15 Posted June 30, 2007 Time to ressurect this topic and add a new version of this game (in case you don't go to the Batari Basic forums.) At the title screen, press left or right instead of the select switch to choose levels. hh061807.bas.bin

Breakpack #17 Posted July 1, 2007 At first I thought this was a wrestling game based on WCW's old PPV Halloween Havoc.
+atari2600land #18 Posted July 3, 2007 At first I thought this was a wrestling game based on WCW's old PPV Halloween Havoc. Aw man, the name is already taken? I'm going to have to think of a more original title.
Breakpack #19 Posted July 3, 2007 Yeah,WWE owns the trademark (at least to the TV Pay Per View show) ,since they bought WCW.They currently don't run the show on PPV though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_Havoc

+atari2600land #21 Posted July 3, 2007 (edited) I don't really know whether to change the name or not. I posted in my blog that I'm not, but then again, I might get a cease-and-desist order from WWE. (From what I hear, Vince is pretty ruthless. I don't really follow wrestling that much any more.) There are at least a few instances I know of of people not being sue-happy. There's a Beach Boys album named "Surf's Up" and they didn't go after the makers of the animated movie of the same name. +atari2600land #22 Posted July 4, 2007 How about this for a different set-up. "Red Skeleton" You are a bloody skull and your bones have been scattered all over the place! Get your bones back so you can be a complete skeleton again.
Jess Ragan #23 Posted July 4, 2007 Well, since the comedian has been dead for a while, you won't have to worry about being sued! JR

That is because Brian Wilson is such a nice guy. Hell he even lets Mike Love call himself "The Beach Boys" Brian is too nice. WP
Impaler_26 #25 Posted July 4, 2007 Hm... what about changing the name to "Halloween Hunt" or "Halloween Chase" ? I think the game should at least have "halloween" in the name when you wanna release it as a "halloween-cart". The "Red Skeleton" set-up could also be nice but i personally prefer the current one, i already got used to that little pumpkin and i like it
