patarik
I mean LCD monitor with RGB input or S-video input as Samsung 215TW. Does somebody have any real experience with this kind of monitors and PAL atari 8-bit? Because atari 8-bit generate strange TV signal and I don't wonna buy a monitor and then find out that it doesn't work with atari.

I have tested 215TW with my 600XL and the picture was terrible. I don't know how to describe it exactly, I'd say the READY Basic prompt was horizontally doubled. Didn't have time to test it thoroughly and I can't even claim the composite cable wasn't somehow broken. I'll hopefully have another chance to test it with an S-Video cable later.... when I make it. mimo
If you don't use LCD monitors, what do you use as display unit? TVs? Yep, good old 32" Sony CRT- and I can play all my NTSC and PAL stuff on it, and the Light Dun works
felicemaggie
The latest range of TFT LCD televisions will work fine with the Atari 8-bit, even giving you the best picture possible, which now is better than what we used to get even with the specialist Atari monitors. Cheers, Rich
