Hi All.

Here the link to my project concerning an eprom programmer , with some features specific for Atari 2600 eprom.

Considering that this is the first release (but system is fully working) , so any suggestions/impovements are welcomed.

Very easy to build for a few dollars. Of course the schematics , firmware and software are tatally free and availabe

Your comments are appreciated

regards,

Mirko

I don't particularly like the use of DIP switches to control voltage. A simpler approach might be to have a circuit something like

VDD ---IND---+--->|----+---+---- +18 out
		 |		 |   |
		 |		 |   |
		 C		 |   Z
Pin --RES---B<		Cap  ^
		 E		 |   |
		 |		 |   |
VSS ---------+---------+---+

IND is a small inductor. The CBE thing is an NPN transistor. The Z< thing is a zener; the >| thing is an ordinary diode. The cap is to filter the 18 volts output. When Pin just sits low, the +18 output will sit at +5. When Pin is pulsed high at a suitable rate (experiment) the +18 will go up to the zener voltage.

This approach will put some drain on VDD, but it won't require the +18 that your other design does.
