StanJr
you'll need two joysticks, or configure your keyboard to emulate the second stick. But the manual will tell you all of these great things and more!
moycon
This is a great adventure. My friend and I beat this game back in the day with no guide. Took us awhile. From what I recall we even left the Atari on while we slept at one point because we were in the map room and knew we were close to the end, but still hadn't figured it out yet at that point. So rather than start over, we just left the Atari on!
tcv
This was a heck of a game for the time. Pretty darned unsung.

Impaler_26
Yep, ROTLA is a great game! I haven't beat it yet but i found this map that might come in handy. EDIT: You can find the Tip- and Solution-Sheets for the game in this thread. Edited April 21, 2008 by Impaler_26
Video
Aww...why ask how to beat it, trying to figure it out is half the fun (trying to figure out how to play with no instructions is the other half )
Nukey Shay
A complete scoring spoiler is listed on page 4 of this thread: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=6328&st=75 The maximum score (pedestal height) you can get is aquired by doing all of the actions that add points, and none of the actions that subtract points. Max height will still drop Indy slightly below the Ark, tho. HSW was quoted as stating an additional easter egg is activated depending on 3 items in your inventory when digging up the Ark...but this has been proven to be false. There is an unknown variable that is being added by the program (+0 points)...possibly related to it - if such a routine had been deleted sometime during the game's development. Mirage
Muhahaha, I got the Tip Sheet and Solutions Sheet at MCGE last month for a quarter each! One of my fondest 2600 memories from back in the day was trying to solve ROTLA with a friend. We'd discuss it all day at school (this was 4th grade I believe), then I'd go over to his house and we'd work on it. Eventually, we ordered the tip sheet, and with a little help from that, we beat it. ROTLA really sparked our imaginations, and was one of my favorite games at the time. I'll have to sit down with it again some Saturday morning and try to figure it out again.
SRGilbert
As I recall, I got this game when I was in 7th grade (it was for my birthday, and it was Superbowl Sunday so no trying it out that night!), and I had it all figured out until the very end. I couldn't figure out how to dig! I must have given up, because I loaned to a friend, and his Dad finally figured out how to dig.
