zerodin
Anyone else remember this Bards Tale clone? It was my first real Desktop PC rpg. And I will always remember it for the way the story is told. You would walk to a statue, or some other place, and it would say something like "Page 23, Paragraph 8", and you'd look up that passage, sometimes it was some immersive story element, sometimes it was telling you what you needed to do next. You really needed that book to get the most out of the game! http://www.mobygames.com/game/dragon-wars To this day I remember how the title screen music for the Dos version goes! Yeah i remember that game but for the IIGS. I recall the music playing in the background too which in those days was not as common. Here's a review from a vintage iigs site. http://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/the_...ragon_wars.html
Lord Thag
I played it too. Loved it, actually. I liked that you started out naked in this city (was it a prison?) and had to use your wits to escape and get equipment. Definitely a spiritual successor/clone to Bard's Tale, which was no bad thing. I loaned mine to a friend. Never got it back
thomasholzer
Go on Digital Press interviews, under Rebecca Heineman, Dragon Wars was supposed to be Bards Tale IV, but she couldn't get the name for legal reasons.
