Darran@Retro Gamer
Are there many collectors here who tend to collect games complete or just the cartridges? I'm in two minds whether to get the complete thing, or just to settle for the actual games. Is getting the complete item part of the fun for you, or do you just want the actual games? +LS650
I'm a gamer rather than a collector. If a game happens to come with a nice box and manuals, great, but I really just want to play the game.
Darran@Retro Gamer
A man after my own heart One of my favourite Lynx games was Klax. It's selling on EBay at the moment, boxed with instructions for £10 Perfectly acceptable, but I instead picked up just the cart with ninja gaiden, todds adventure in slimeworld, toki, blue lightning, gates of zendecon (all carts only) for £21 pounds. Which I think is a far better deal... I suppose boxes are only any real worth if you're planning to sell on again...
+Sauron
If I have a choice between a boxed game and a loose cart (same game), I almost always go for the boxed. However, I mainly only care about the game itself and not the packaging.
+atari2600land
I'll take what I can get. There aren't that many Lynx games to buy out there unless you look on eBay (but I don't want to. I like you people better.)
SRGilbert
I don't care about the boxes, but having the manuals are always nice.
Darran@Retro Gamer
Agreed, especially as most of them are on those cool little posters Just been reading the Super Skweek one and it's really cool.
Emehr
My ultimate goal (for Lynx as well as other systems) is to have the manuals to go with the games. To me, having the box is a nice little bonus but I don't ever see myself actively pursuing them. What boxes I do have are carefully unfolded and stowed in a box so I never see them anyway. SwedenLynxer
I collect boxed games. I think a nice box is part of the whole ”game experience”. Manuals can be a very vital part too. As it set the stage, give you important information and give you the background story.
Darran@Retro Gamer
I have to admit I adore the poster manuals that come with certain Lynx games. I've currently got boxed copies of robotron, super skweek, tournament cyberball and Robosquash. And 13 carts. I may go after he manuals, but can imagine they would be harder to get hold of... games-video
very. i hate games without boxes, and in my complete Lynx collection i am only missing a box for Block Out, which is very annoying.
chris_lynx1989
very. i hate games without boxes, and in my complete Lynx collection i am only missing a box for Block Out, which is very annoying. Same here.I've accepted some things in my HUGE collection (Lynx and every other thing) without a box or Docs, usually it is unavoidable OR it never had it (certain protos/lab copies and etc.).If it has the box and all I'm THRILLED.If not,I'm a little disappointed. It depends on 'what it is' and '$'
xubidoo
doesnt bother me in the least if it has a box or not ,i buy for the game itself ,altho saying that id say 75% of my games do have boxes i must be 1 of the few ppl that totally hate those poster manuals ,i much prefer the boring little booklets.
