+kheller2
You know its a good day when you get an email "does your brother still collect Atari stuff? I have a bunch I want to get rid of... for free" Well, I got what I thought was all he had, however, I'm told I just got duplicates.. hmm I must have it all someday!! So what is in this pile.. XEGS in box 800 410 in box, looks mint 410 w/o box 1025 printer 1050 1010 in box 1010 w/o box (but the other type of 1010) Pile of joysticks Many boxed pieces of software I've never seen before 1030 in the box PR connection Keypad The Programmer box (where all the joysticks were stuck, gemini, TAC2, etc) -- I still need a few more boxes to have all of those kits. Now for some software I've never seen before: HAM HELPER by K-TEK Software - Morse code instructor Tink! Tonk! Tuk Goes to Town and Tink's Adventure by Mercer Mayer via Sprout software. Hard shell red cases. Nice. Ohh. Mint in the box Imagic Atlantis for the 8bits.. sweet A neat find, HomePak by Batteries Included. I had forgotten about that, I used to use Hometerm all the time. Alas, no software or manuals but a nice box. Edited January 13, 2009 by kheller2

miker
Atarimania has some ones of Tink Tonk series but not the ones you have listed above. Do you plan to dump them to ATR, or they are in box, and you will then keep them untouched.
+kheller2
I'll dump whatever I have. I haven't organized it all yet from a software view. There is probably some other gems in there that aren't uploaded yet. I like having the masters to upload. I'll admit I have probably three or four boxes (big boxes) of floppies filled with "collections" of games etc that have been pirated over the years by various people. I'm guessing 500 floppies minimum and a few archives of games from old BBS systems as well. I try to stockpile and clone masters whenever I get them. If anyone gets an unplayed copy of The Tail of Beta Lyrae let me know. I say unplayed because as you use it, it writes data to the disk to make things harder for you, and its a nice copy protected disk as well. www.atarimania.com
Tink! Tonk! - Tink's Adventure is on our to-do list but we don't have Tuk Goes to Town. These are really cute educational programs. The games were also re-released by Thunder Mountain with slightly different titles. Never heard of HAM Helper. K-Tek Software and ALA Video pioneered the budget software industry in the US and they released A LOT of (shitty) titles. Seems unknown programs from the two publishers turn up from time to time. Would be great if you could dump that one. Most of the programs that are still "missing in action" can only be found on old disk collections of pirated titles. So, as I wrote numerous times, please check these disks carefully, particularly the floppies with "BASIC crap" -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com

I was one of the few that had the Tail of beta lyrae and played it till it entered the city in the title screen, I mentioned it looked different when played on the 1200xl and 800xl. The disk wrote to itself so many times it finally gave out. I did not know how to back the thing up properly back then. Now when I mention it some people have lots to say but only one other person mentioned it looking different or seeing anything different in the game. Some mention it's copy protection ramping the difficulty up or messing with the pallet but I have yet to find a copy that looked as good or played into the city again.... if you find this treasure please before playing it.... back it up several different ways. It would be awsome to have it back in original full form. I for one would love to have it back in full glory! I miss it. What I have seen on the archive sites is not the same as the disk I once owned. It's close but no cigar.
Tempest
I was one of the few that had the Tail of beta lyrae and played it till it entered the city in the title screen, I mentioned it looked different when played on the 1200xl and 800xl. How is that possible? Different artifacting colors? This thread reminds me that I got a stack of old Atari floppies at one of the game shows a few years back that I have not really gone through. Each one had two or three games on it, so lord knows what's on them. Maybe I'll do that this weekend... Tempest
_The Doctor__
How is that possible? Different artifacting colors? Tempest I think the programmer was pretty darn smart, the copy protection and machine detection worked extremely well, maybe too well. Different publishers also sold the title adding to the confusion. Artifacting might have accounted for some color difference claims, but not the graphic or ending sequences. It was such a memorable event.. I was so excited I took my drive and the game to my friends house (Tom D. may he R.I.P, was a 1200XL fan) and Jeff V.(his next door neighbor and VIC20 fan). It blew us all away. Jeff was in awe of how incredibly fast the Atari loaded software compared to his VIC/Commodore. Such a memorable event! www.atarimania.com
It would be great if you could archive the following: - HAM Helper - microSubtraction (the last one in the series that's needed!) - Telly Turtle (not sure whether it's different from the original version but this release is rare). Do you have the catalog numbers on the disks? Do you have any Hayden Software catalog with that? If you have any time to scan the packaging, that would be fantastic as well. Many thanks for the update, Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com

+kheller2
One of my brothers owns a DMC12. I can't talk about the time machine specifics or that he works for the US NRC. I do know the DMC is jealous of my 93 MR2 Turbo. At the moment I don't have any 8 bits up and running. But will put this on my todo list right after the 1450 ROM dumps.
