Last fall when I re-researched all of the Atari power supplies for the 8-bits and peripherals, this listing in the Best Electronics catalog had me stymied, and it still does:

UK Power Supply 1050 / 1025 240V, 50 Hz 9V 27A  CO60592-34

(as listed on page 137 of the Rev 10 catalog), or

1025/1050 UK Power Supply 240V, 50Hz 9 volt 27 VA.  CO60592-34

(as listed on page 145 of the Rev 10 catalog)

Does anyone have one of these power supplies?  What did it come with?  Could you say (or scan) exactly what it says on it?

I believe the 1025 printer normally doesn't need an external power supply brick.

Is there such a thing as a 'Euro' 1025 printer that needs this external power supply?

If this supply works with the 1050, wouldn't it also work with everything else that works with normal 1050 power supplies?

Looks real. Don't know about the 1025, but for the 1050, 850, 400, 800, 1200xl, et cetera...

This thing with more modern ac adapters being both 240 and 110 is new. I don't remember that being the case back in the 80s (one could work with either).

I have one here -

A.C. Mains Adaptor

Atari Part No Co 60592-34/TM 7498

INPU: 240V 50Hz 0.037Kw

OUTPUT: 9V 50Hz 27VA

Operation - Continuous

For Indoor Use Only

Disconnect the mains plug from the supply socket when not in use

Made in the United Kingdom

This came with of my 1050 drives. I don't have a 1025 in my hoard but I do have several 1050s and several of these. I know it powers my 1200XL fine but I guess since the 1200 was never released here that there will not be a UK 1200 supply listed. I also use them on XF551s.

I have got exactly the same part as Spookt with 2 of my boxed 1050s.

My PAL 400 came with a Tamod supply:

TaMOD

POWER SUPPLY

TYPE M 5496

FOR INDOOR USE ONLY

INPUT 240V ~50HZ

OUTPUT:9.5V - 1.5 AMP

I also have 2600s with Tamod supplys, so I guess that they were a OEM supplier to Atari UK

I have used the 1050 supply on a 400,800 and 1200XL so the answer to that question is yes, I believe that the 400/800/1200 can take anything up to 12 volts (ac or dc), as long as the output is 1 amp or more.

I also used a printer PSU that had a big ampage output and split the output cable to power an 800 and 1050 at the same time

Thanks guys, appreciated.

Is there really such a thing as a "Euro" 1025 printer that takes an external power supply?

Maybe I should start another thread for that question..

This thread is "a bit" old I know but....

Thanks to a link provided by Fred I can anwer this:

The US 1025 connects directory to the 110/120VAC

The European 1025 Used An external 220vAC transformer which provides two A-C output voltages:

Atari#: 14750 "AC/AC Adapter"

Type: 102501

Input: 220V~/50Hz/38VA

Output: I 29V~/600mA

II 8,6V~/1A

Use with: 1025(220V version for Europe)

Note that this is one of the very few Atari products that I have seen that does NOT have a C0 product nummer.

I'm pretty confident that the power supply is a FriWo product as it looks like the other FriWo PSU's externally.

Its a shame that there are no pictures of the connectors.
