Quick update for everyone on several items in the Songbird catalog:

* CyberVirus is back in stock, along with a number of other hard-to-find games like Hyperdrome and Fat Bobby and SFX.

* For a limited time, Phase Zero Demo carts, Jaguar CGE 5th CDs, and Lynx CGE 5th carts are still in stock.

* Protector (the original 1999 version) is officially out of production. Once the current stock of five or so carts is exhausted, that's it.

All items have been added/adjusted in the online Songbird catalog, please stop by and check it out.

Thanks for the update!

I am happy that I already own a copy of Protector so I don´t have to rush out to get one of these last five copys AND of course I am happy I own Protector because It is a very good game, great music :)

I have some questions: I am thinking of buying Crystal Mines II: Buried Treasure and I have been wondering when the Lynx/PC serial cable will be available? It seems to have been out of stock a very long time now.

And about Hyperdrome: Is this game coming with a box (CD case) or not?

It seems to be hard to find this game with the box :(

Yes, I realize the PC/Lynx cable has been out of stock for a long time. Someone else used to build them for me, and he switched jobs a year or two back and hasn't had time/tools to do these. I'll nudge him again, see if we can get a few more made.

Only the version of Hyperdrome published by Telegames USA comes with a CD jewel case AFAIK. The Telegames UK one comes in a baggie with printed instructions. Songbird has both in stock currently (just specify which one you want when you order).

nice to hear someone finally come forward and say they are offering this

first class lynx release in my home country.cheers. :)

the price ($45.95),and the shipping cost ($6.00),are the two small sticking

points that i see could be a problem here for u.s. buyers. a cheaper price

and shipping cost would sell me more on this release, most lynxers want a

bargain on new or old games for it. could be a tough sell for some in these

tough economic times. new lynx releases are a niche market thing usually,

and a hard sell many times after the price goes over $39.95. i've seen so-

me here voicing just these same concerns on aa and other sites with lynx

forums buzzing about alpine games. gook luck, carl.i'm not wishing you any

ill will on this. just my two cents worth :) .--the lynxer

I don't think $46 plus shipping is unfair at all for a new game.

If you were to buy an Xbox-PS2-GC game you'd often pay $50 for a new release. And those games are mass produced which keep the costs down. Considering all the work that went into the development, manufacturing, importing, etc a $46 price tag is very fair, especially when you realize this is done on a much smaller scale and often on a part-time work schedule.

I'm excited and grateful that people are still working on and releasing titles for the 2600 (Saboteur, Star Fire, etc), 5200 (Adventure II, Koffi, etc), 7800 (Cuttle Cart, etc), Jaguar (Star Alliance/Eerieville, encrypted Painter, etc), and Lynx (Alpine Games, Songbird upcoming titles, etc) and will buy and support these people as much as my wallet allows.

Just my opinion.

Totally agree.

Alpine games is easily worth the £25.00 I paid for it, remebering that the Lynx is dead from a commerical development perspective.

I will also be purchasing the up and coming Songbird Games, to support future game delevopment for the Lynx (as well as taking advantage of the great exchange rate ;) ).

I agree, and since I just made my fortune on ebay. Ok well made some money... I'll be picking up this game. I think it is very admirable that there are those hobbyists out there that take time out of their normal lives to make these "after-market" games. As a die hard Lynx fan I'll support them by buying their games, even if it does cost a little more than a GBA game. Kudos to those game developers and keep em coming!

$6 for shipping makes baby jesus cry :(

say what? :?

forgive me,but, what does this topic have to do with christ? not trying be down on christianity or anything here,i'm lutheran myself, you know, but i

got lost there.

i take that you thought the shipping rate was a bit high,or am i wrong? if

you meant this in what you said above here, then i totally agree with you

on your statement. the shipping to me from minnesota and carl in a padd-

ed envelope to illinois is between $1 and 2 dollars by first class usually,(i

have seen under $1 dollar and up to $1.50 several times on a lynx game

in the box). so,why is it $6 dollars? is someone trying to make more money per game on small shipments to avoid charging more for a game?

sounds a little curious to me.hmmmm,i dunno.--the lynxer

I think it has more to do with the Simpsons than J.C. ;)

the simpsons,eh? that old homer was a real philosopher, wasn't he? a real

genius before his time! heh. i always hang on every word he says during

every episode. his genius is just frightening, isn't it? homer is a real plato.

or is it socrates? no matter,i guess. just true genius like jack tramiel had!

two men that were ahead of their time. :) --the lynxer

this game comes on an eprom and is in a clamshell case with a 4 or 6

page manual.this game uses the same eprom and board as the lgss cart

and road riot 4wd and a couple other games from video 61 use. hope this

helps you.--the lynxer

So it is just the chip, and no plastic backing?

Don't worry -- it'll arrive ready to play. (No assembly required) ;)

no,you get a green board behind the eprom with your manual and the

clamshell case/box.

the game is pretty good really. it is not a very big game though,it is only a 64k lynx title.if you like chess or checkers-type games, you'll probably like the othello cart too.try it,you'll like it.--the lynxer

More disinformation Chris? The Lynx encryption scheme won't support a cartridge less than 128K. According to my list, the Lynx Othello cartridge uses 184K out of the 256K EPROM.

why do you say that, harry? lance ringquist himself(video 61 & atari sales)

told me that othello was a 64k lynx title. were talking on this and other

things over the phone or by email in one our many conferences on lynx

tech and game stuff.

could lance have told me wrong on this? yes.

did he know what he was talking about? he seemed very sure of his info.

am i spreading disinformation? no. i have no reason to do it here!

if othello is really 184k,then it is 184k.it is your game that lance carried.i

cannot argue with you on that. i can only say what someone told me as a

known fact to them. lance said it was 64k.enough said.--the lynxer

Well I'm placing my order with Carl here shortly for AG. Even with it being 'high priced'(which to me for the Lynx it seems great considering the circumstances right now and the fact that some of the games that came out on the Jag were $80 when they came out, ala Worms), I'm fine with it. Support the Lynx dev. scene! 8)
