Dino
meaning is there a rumored game or prototype out there thats extremely sought after but so far nobody has found? There is Swordquest Airworld Also the box to Air Raid by Menavision. These are prabably the most sought after. there is also Space Chase monogrammed
Wickeycolumbus
Check the Rumor Mill section at atariprotos.com You may also want to look at this page. The two most sought after ones are probably Swordquest: Airworld and Zoo Keeper.
carmel_andrews
any reason why this thread is only open to software only....i am sure that there are hardware proto's for the vcs like the RC vcs atari did way back when...or the vcs keyboard that a commodore spin off company 'peripheral by design' created i am sure there are others
homerwannabee
Here are some holy grails 1. The Swordquest prizes. (Value of these in precious metals alone make these the most valuable grail.) 2. Incredible Hulk Proto 3. Air Raid Box 4. NTSC Ultravision Karate Box
carmel_andrews
Homer, you will have to raid or burgle JT's home to get the first prize from the swordquest compo as i think he half inched (nicked) it after getting atari from warners

ATARIPITBULL
How about the Mindlink headset w/ software? I think the boys at the www.atarimuseum.com have a mind link headset (Maybe?). Edited June 27, 2009 by ATARIPITBULL
Crazy Climber
there is also Space Chase monogrammed There is at least one of these floating around, I think it was on display at a classic game show a while back.
Dutchman2000
I would say that Zookeeper is the holy grail. Airworld was barely started so no loaner carts were made. Tod did test his alpha builds on the development boxes but it never made it to cart form.
ATARIPITBULL
I thought for sure I saw the mind link set up at the old "Philly Classic #3" show that I went to a few years ago. Edited June 27, 2009 by ATARIPITBULL

2600Lives
I think the boys at the www.atarimuseum.com have a mind link headset (Maybe?). Yup, they do. I've personally seen it when they brought a bunch of stuff to OVGE one year to show off. Pretty damn cool. Air Raid with the box I'd say would be one of the hardest to come by, with maybe Pepsi Invaders up there as well.
Rom Hunter
The Swordquest sword!!! I second that. Also, the unfinished AirWorld proto is IMO the one and only true Holy Grail of VCS video games. +remowilliams
is there a 2600 "holy grail"? Yes, its in the black castle I believe.
Gregory DG
is there a 2600 "holy grail"?Yes, its in the black castle I believe. No, that's the "Enchanted Chalice." The thing about "Holy Grail" games is that once they're found, we move on to the next one. So, it's a constantly moving target.
jahfish
there is also at least one more mindlink in europe that i know of .... i guess that one is another holy grail: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=146222&hl=

For example, when I sell Heavy Sixer systems on ebay, I often promote them as the 'holy grail' of video game systems. IMHO they are, but they certainly are not rare. You can find 8 of them on ebay right now, and a few more in the ebay stores. One might argue that if you found one sealed in its original box, then it might be considered a 'holy grail' item. But if we're just talking systems alone, I'd put it #1 on the list (Atari followed closely by Sears model).
