Toobin' - attempt #2

I thought to myself, maybe I should play Toobin' on the NES because it's been a while. So I popped in the Tengen Toobin' and got some more inspiration. In this version, you can now move around the screen, you're no longer confined to at the top. Because of this, if you get stuck at the top, you lose a life. Otherwise, be careful not to scroll down too fast, you might not see what's ahead of you and die! Once again, you start on level 3.

Is there a way to simplify the following (byte3=score+2):

if byte3>$09 then byte3=$10

if byte3>$19 then byte3=$20

if byte3>$29 then byte3=$30

and so on.
