Nukey Shay
Earlier versions of this were posted before...however KoolKing mentioned a problem with the screen constantly rolling after switching to the main screen from the title screen when using it with Harmony, as well as not being able to move in Stella. Anybody else confirm these problems...and does the attachment below correct them? EDIT: current version Alien8k.zip Edited March 13, 2010 by Nukey Shay
KoolKing
Thanks for taking a look at this! All roms now worked for me in Stella without issue. On the Harmony, the NTSC and PAL 60 roms still roll but the other PAL one seems to play just fine on my NTSC set-up, albeit seemingly a fraction slower than the NTSC. Thanks again for messing with a game you probably haven't looked at in 4 years
Nukey Shay
PAL one seems to play just fine Good, that isolated the problem as being timer-related. Fixed version posted up top that should correct the screen roll (previous version was still miscounting the scanlines on 1 frame).
KoolKing
Hmm, both the NTSC and PAL 60 roms are still doing the screen roll for me. Regular PAL one still fine. Thanks again for your efforts.
GideonsDad
On the second screen (where you are supposed to navigate from the bottom to the top) I cannot move, so after a few seconds I die. I am using Stella and playing the NTSC ROM. Otherwise this is a sweet hack / improvement upon Alien. Nukey Shay
That problem is already known...it stems from the joystick-merging routine. The right stick has no problems, but you need to press DOWN for a moment in the bonus stage if you are using the left stick.
