tz101
Spider Fighter. I love the colors and nice visuals along with the challenging gameplay. None of the rainbow visuals games should be considered. Some of them are too dizzying to look at because programmers thought rainbow stripes looked cool.

Miss 2600
Tapper. I think the graphics are awesome and it had that Mountain Dew logo which was my favorite drink when I was a kid so that was very impressive to me.
chuckwalla
Two of my first games for the 2600 back in the early 80's that really impressed me was Demon Attack (those colorful birds were almost mesmerizing) and Starmaster (the starfield effect was very cool and the enemy ships when in close proximity looked like Klingon Birdsof Prey); and combined with cool sound effects and high playability those games are still impressive to me today. +cvga
I'm impressed with the big sprites and overall look of Pete Rose Baseball although the gameplay isn't that good. I really like how Beamrider has an almost Tempest-like grid with well defined enemies that get added every few sectors. As far as looks in general, I remember really wanting Fire Fighter based on how it looked.
Pioneer4x4
And the envelope please... Enduro - good use of shading, and constantly changing colors Starpath "The Official Frogger" - It makes the regular Frogger look like it is on a different system Harmony Menu - Best use of colored text
Tr3vor
of course, yars' revenge. i like the nutral zone, has lots of colors, the quotile has lots of changing colors, the explosion is awesome, and the sheild moves. yep, awesome game. Armonigann
I'm going with KungFu on this one..Just an all around great looking 2600 port to me
A.J. Franzman
Dragonfire... for the large, detailed dragons. Medieval Mayhem... for the large, detailed dragon (especially the dancing in the easter egg credits screen). Adventure... for the large, detailed ducks dragons. Seriously, though, The Official Frogger (Starpath) looks like it's on a different system, compared to the Parker Brothers version.
Lonely Mountain Hermit
I always thought "Dolphin" looked really good.
Godzilla
hmmm.. interesting... yea, not 'most technically impressive,' but what u thought looked da best... for homebrew era, oystron is still a favorite of mine. for classic era, hmmmm... Krull.
johnny_boy
In Ladybug, I like how the flickering was taken good use of, by superimposing two different colors that make a third one to the eye. There are so many interesting feats in this one, I'd love to see them listed and commented upon. Imagic really pulled their titles above the rest, at least visually, by paying attention to the visuals and hiring professional artists. Demon Attack looks good, even though the speed isn't "all that" and the variety is lacking compared to its inspiration, Phoenix.

Imagic games are great quite a few were starting to look almost like colecovision titles. Seriously though until i played dragonfire i didn't even know that the 2600 was capable of such graphics. -Darren-
Godzilla
yea, imagic games are some of the best looking and consistently best looking 2600 games. cosmic ark is a close second fave for me. i love the little critters.
johnny_boy
Imagic also knew how to adapt to each console's strength. Wing War for Colecovision looks fabulous. It's fun to compare versions of Demon Attack to each other. As mentioned on the Intellivision board, they did great on that platform, too. MagitekAngel
I'm inclined to say Pole Position. Vibrant colors, fluid scrolling background, and a bona fide "wow" effect insofar as I did not expect a 2600 game to achieve this level of graphical fidelity. +save2600
Oh there's tons of great & impressive looking graphics on the 2600. Some of the latest homebrews naturally and a bunch of others have already been mentioned, but I still get a kick out of the "rainbow explosion" of when you get a free ball in Midnight Magic. holgibo
Dragonfire - Because of the really good looking dragons. California Games - Great sprites, I even like surfing the waves. Enduro - Different day times, different backgrounds, good cars, who needs more?
+SpiceWare
Medieval Mayhem... for the large, detailed dragon (especially the dancing in the easter egg credits screen). Thanks! espire8 did a great job in coming up with that sequence. I just made a video of it for those who've not seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5huVcpYPzs I always thought "Dolphin" looked really good. Same here - it was after playing Dolphin for the HSC that I figured out how to do the dragon in Medieval Mayhem.
Red 5
Fathom looks great. Pitfall looks great. When you get killed by a Zot in Tunnel Runner, that looks really cook. When you beat skeletor in He-Man, the victory screen is nothing short of amazing for the 2600.
GideonsDad
I have to say Solaris, although I am not a big fan of the game, it has some of the slickest graphics I have ever seen on the 2600. GideonsDad
Cebus Capucinis
I finally got around to playing Man Goes Down and I must say that animation is PHENOMENAL!!! I also forgot to add Medieval Mayhem to the list -- VERY AMAZING!
GideonsDad
I just played Ikari Warriors and it has great graphics and decent music. The fact you can command and a tank and there are enemy helicopters is pretty cool. GideonsDad
masschamber
I'd say the late activision arcade ports of Rampage, double dragon, kung fu, and commando due to their detailed worlds and large sprites and complex gameplay of course solaris, but we all know that already. and by association Radar lock and MS.PAcman, certainly looks nice as well as millipede
