Fantasmike
I have a soft spot for the classic Centipede but I have to say that Millipede is a better game. It might as well have been called Centipede 2 since it is basically the same game souped up.
+save2600
TI-99 Centipede - even better than the arcade IMO. Why? Can't put my finger on it entirely, but I think the main reason is the fact it makes excellent use of the standard horizontal monitor orientation. Arcade is vertical of course and don't like the fact your shots aren't of much use when the centipede is way up top. Space Invaders is different because many of the invaders occupy a space much closer to your base. Millipede is great too, especially like the DDT explosions - but it is a little too busy and I absolutely hate the grey player boundary box. NE146
I like all of the 'pede games...including both versions of Milipede. Yeah.. perhaps the better question is which Millipede is "better"?

Yeah.. perhaps the better question is which Millipede is "better"? honestly, I think the GCC one looks better, while the Atari version plays better. They are both really good though. jhd
When I was about 13 or 14, Centipede was my very favourite arcade game -- Millipede was not very common in my area; I only saw/played it once or twice when I was on holidays. I actually wrote my own version for the Coco, ca. 1984. It was called "Multipede" Unfortunately, it is now lost -- though it did receive limited distribution via one or two local BBS systems when I got online a few years later. Despina83
Centipede! In large part due to nostalgia, but also because the sound that Millipede makes when you get hit is really annoying. I just find Centipede to be more entertaining.

NE146
Someone wrote "which version of Millipede"? Is there more than version of Millipede..? Well yes! There are 2 versions of Millipede. One by Atari, and one by GCC which was unreleased. It's cool trying both out.

Despina83
The only thing I don't like about Centipede (otherwise one of my favorites) is how it KILLS my thumb after awhile.
negative1
i'm a huge fan of both millipede and centipede.. and i think millipede is an awesome port on the 2600... (haven't tried out the gcc proto yet).. does anyone know if there is a bug (haha) in the 2600 version of centipede when you reach 880k? i've played it on the gameroom emulator on the xbox 360... what happens is there is some extra graphics at the upper left, and the scorpion comes out, but stays stuck on the screen.. here's a video of the issue.. (gameplay up to 1 million) ======================================== also here's some video of millipede near 1 million it's a very challenging version! ======================================= no issues with that version of the game.. later -
