homerwannabee #1033 Posted April 9, 2010 This auction has reached people outside of AtariAge. Yes, for people at AtariAge Wonder007 would be the clear winner, but this auction has already dragged in people who are not members here. No one here besides Wonder is willing to pay more than $10,000, but the auction is at $12,600. So obviously we are dealing with bigger players. It should be interesting if Wonder will win this auction. It should be a heck of a fight at the end.
Pioneer4x4 #1034 Posted April 9, 2010 but the auction is at $12,600. Wasn't it at 12,770 earlier? Is that what the retraction post was about? That should show up in the bid history.

oldgames #1038 Posted April 9, 2010 I hadn't checked in on this thread for a while. Good to see the excitement level is still high! I did have to add one entry to my collection spreadsheet, though. My target collection is all games that were commercially sold in the U.S. either in stores, or thru mail order. Up till now, Air Raid had not been on my list. I wasn't totally convinced it was anything other than a pirate cart. Tanman's story backed up by the box with the Tuesday Morning price tag ended that speculation for me. It was obviously available thru at least one store in the U.S. I suspect that's one in my spreadsheet that won't be checked off anytime soon. Still, I'm really glad it was found and that lots of questions have been answered! It's a fun day in Atari Land!

It should be interesting if Wonder will win this auction. It should be a heck of a fight at the end. As usual, you make wild assumptions, without any basis. Sorry for being an intuitive person. I guess Marco could make a play. But the big time spenders seem to have already stated that this auction is too rich for their blood. So let me be more specific. No big time spender besides Wonder has publically stated that they are willing to pay so much for a system. Yes, I get that it is best to not show your hand, and that people could also lie just to have a better chance at the auction, but my gut says Wonder is the big player on AtariAge. I also think there is a decent chance he will win the auction. I just don't think it is automatic, and that the possibility of outside forces may come into play. This auction definitely has been seen by a ton of people, which increases the odds of one of those people bidding hard core just for the heck of it. Just my opinion, and me using some intuition. Is my intuition wrong, who knows. I guess well see in the end.

GeneralHellfire #1043 Posted April 9, 2010 All those cool cars makes me wonder what the perfect car would be to drive around in with your newly acquired boxed Air Raid game sitting shotgun (because you're now single after spending all that $ on a game). My vote: AMC Pacer or Gremlin.

Pioneer4x4 #1045 Posted April 9, 2010 My vote: AMC Pacer or Gremlin. I was thinking a Dodge Aspen Wagon (All I would have money left for.) That is classic for that time, about as boring as you can get. , But a Gremlin X, with real denim seats, maybe...

HFK #1050 Posted April 9, 2010 I have a weird memory for numbers. http://www.atariage....ost__p__1945921 But he has not posted in this thread as have a few people who could be legitimate contenders. It could go to somebody who you might never imagine, this could be the item they pull the stops out on. Remember, it right now is the only one. Also a good chance it could go to a person who isn't even a member here.
