Help! Joystick problems! Can't move all the way right.

Hi,

 

I have a 5200 that won't let standard sticks move all the way right. (e.g. In Super Breakout, you stop before touching the wall, even though the stick is pressed as far as it will go.) It seems to be a calibration issue, and occurs on several different sticks. I also have tried a Wico stick (same problem) and a digital adapter, which sort of works but the stick is still not properly centered.

If it were a single controller experiencing the problem, then I would say it is the pot that controls horizontal movement being out of adjustment. Since you are seeing this on multiple controllers, it is evidently something inside the console. Someone more expert than I will have to be of assistance.

 

Adjusting the pots is really quite simple if you decide to go that route.

It sounds like the pot inside the console is the place to start.

With that many controllers affected, I'd agree with the console being out of adjustment. Fortunately, it's an easy job.
