newcoleco
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkth6cvXMww This is one of the ColecoVision projects I was aware of concerning Side Trak.
NIAD
Thanks for sharing the video Daniel. Been waiting to play this one on the CV for over 28 years and it looks like the wait is almost over!
+5-11under
Very cool... I know this is/was on Retroillucid's wish list. About a year ago, he actually asked me if I wanted to code it. Glad I said no. Also, the programmer needs a component video mod. Edited January 24, 2011 by 5-11under

+Yurkie
Thanks Daniel for posting about this new homebrew game. Is the programmer a member of AtariAge?
Pixelboy
I know Scott Huggins was working on Side Trak for a while. I'm guessing RKGames is someone else? If RKGames is looking for a publisher, Side Trak is already listed on CollectorVision's web site as a work-in-progress. In any case, it would be cool to see this completed and (finally!) released on cartridge.

+Yurkie
It would be great to get this guy excited about programming future ColecoVision games. He said in the video he plans to release the rom. I would really love to play this.

retroillucid
Just had some talks with Russ (the programmer) .... .... and he seem to agree to let me publish Side Trak!

ColecoDan
That is awesome, I have never played it but I know I was always pissed at that fake coleco catalog and all the games that were never produced. Finishing off all the games in that catalog would be cool.

RKGames
Thanks for the kind words and interest in my conversion of Side Trak everyone. It looks like the game should be released on cartridge after all I'll keep everyone posted on my progress and will post some video on my youTube channel when i reach major milestones! I still got alot of retooling, coding and graphics to do for the final game. After seeing all the interest the video on youTube made, it gave me that extra push i needed to finish the game once and for all. Thanks again everyone, hopefully the game will live up to everyone expectations?! Russ

ScottHuggins
Russ, this looks great. I'm so glad you are doing this. As Pixelboy said, I was "considering" taking this on....but never did. Looks to me (from the video) like you did an awesome job on it. Can't wait to see how it comes out. Murph74
Is it weird that I'm kinda bummed that it now seems the ROM may not be released in favor of a full cart publishing?? Edited January 26, 2011 by Murph74
+Yurkie
Is it weird that I'm kinda bummed that it now seems the ROM may not be released in favor of a full cart publishing?? I side with Murph on this. Russ is a highly skilled programmer that has created iphone and ipad software (check out his other youtube videos), and stated in his video he was going to post the rom. Holding back the rom in favor of publishing is a real bummer.

New CV games don't come along every day, so any new cartridge game is always a welcomed addition to the CV's library.

retroillucid
Who said that the rom won't be released? It will but only when all produced copies will be sold
