Arkhan
holy shit. The INTV is worth owning just for that game alone. Damn.
doctorclu
Looks like a very interesting game. I wonder if NetHack was out yet when this came out?
SlowCoder
I wonder if NetHack was out yet when this came out? Yeah, I've tried to play that a few times in recent years. But it's fantasically complicated for the newcomer. I got my first taste of that type of game on PC with Rogue, which is basically a colorized and simplified remake released as shareware. NetHack was a true Open Source game, which is why it became so popular. By the way, looks like it was released in '87, after the IntV. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on Tower of Doom either. Guess I'll have to wait, as I understand it's not a cheapie. Edited February 10, 2011 by SlowCoder

OldAtarian
Uhg, I should have never sold Tower of Doom.. it was such a good game. tell me more? I want that game. Tower of Doom hits you with a double whammy in that not only is it one of the harder to find games, it also happens to be a damn good game. When you combine those two attributes the result is usually higher prices. Best bet for Tower of Doom is to find someone selling a complete system with a bunch of other games for a low price. Anyone selling it on it's own usually knows what it's worth. $25-$30 for the loose cart seems to be the norm and CIB usually runs from $75-$150 depending on condition. cparsley
Yes, Tower of Doom is a great game, but if someone wanted to "hook me up" my welcome package would not be the INTV, but the Aquarius (hehehehehehe), or a 5200/7800 as I was never into Atari much as a kid, and can only come up with 2600's around here... Skylark68
Tower of Doom is a cool game. Make sure you find a copy with instructions. You'll need them. Another one that is awesome is Thunder Castle. You don't need instructions for that one, but it's great fun. The 2 official AD&D games were cool as well.
