Did you have a warranty on your Intellivision back in the 80's?

Did most places even offer these? I'm talking about a hassle-free "in store" warranty where if your intellivision stopped working, you could just bring it right back to the store and swap it out on the spot?

We first got our intellivision somewhere between 1982 and 1984? something like that. They got it free by going and listening to one of those stupid time share things. So i know we didnt have a warrenty on it.

 

I remember going to stores and seeing the games in the discount bin, but at the time i didnt know it was the video game crash!

My dad knew a guy that worked for Mattel Canada so we got ours direct from them, not sure how the warranty would have worked.

Man, I went and listened to two different time share sales pitches, and all I got was a free vacation to Branson, MO. Where can I go to time share sales pitches in your neck of the woods?

 

Back to OP: Never had an INTV until about two years ago, and obviously Craigslist purchases don't come with warranty.

Well, I´m overseas but I can tell that we have a warranty, Our Intellivision was overheating and freezees with use. The shop who repaired still exists with the same owner and he tell me that the solution was to simply remove the Rf shielding that was unnecesary for my country anyway. and problem solved.
