20ohm20
Today's (and yesterdays) finds: Two loose Sony 8MB PS2 memory cards - $4 each Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for the PS2 (disc only) - $3 Resident Evil 2 for the PS1 (discs only) - $5 Wizard of War for the Atari 5200 (loose cart - minor label damage) - $4 ** I guess this means I should get an Atari 5200 now... "Grab Bag" of ten loose Atari 2600 carts - $14 (includes Video Olympics, Casino, Outlaw, (2) Pac Man, Vanguard, Boxing, Pitfall, Fishing Derby and a totally labeless "mystery" cart that ended up being Circus Atari) Loose "As-is" Commodore 1541 floppy drive (the older VIC-1541 style) - $10 (I haven't tested this yet but I have 100% success in bringing these back from the dead) ...and to my amazement, the Atari 400 that has been sitting unsold for MONTHS has been REDUCED! It was been marked down to $39.99 "as-is" and the Qix cart has been removed (or stolen). Still no power supply or accessories of any kind... EricDeLee
I think I got some okay deals today. I got an old Stanley Coffee Thermos with a custom leather carrying case for $2 SNES Zelda a link to the past for $.50 Boxed Pengo Atari 5200: $2 Countermeasure Atari 5200 $2 (I just missed out on an Atari 7800 and a 5200 for $5 each. I left an Atari 2600 there and he was wanting $5 for it and two controllers) I also talked a guy down from $75 on a PSone with screen, carrying case, memory card and 21 games. I got it for $50 total. It also had 2 PS2 memory cards. The note worthy games in the bunch: a complete Greatest Hits edition of Chrono Cross and a Yugioh forbidden memories Not too shabby I guess. SRGilbert
Last night when we went to bed, the forcast said that there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms, so I said screw it, I'm not even making a sale list. Well, we get up just before 8am, skies are clear, sun is shining, so we decide to wing it and just drive around looking for sales. Glad we did! Not a lot of game stuff, but some good deals none the less. At the very first sale, I think she was being extra nice to us because I had found a card holder amongst the junk she was selling, and it had a bunch of her old id cards and stuff in it. It was a moving sale and stuff was everywhere, so it's no wonder she didn't see it before. A brand new, still shrinkwrapped copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional - $5 - routinely goes for over $100 on ebay, but I actually need it, so I think I'll keep it. A 2nd gen iPod nano 2 gb - $1 - seriously, one doller. She lost the power supply and just wanted to get rid of it I guess. It looks almost brand new, charged it up and it works great, even has about 320 tracks on it! we also bought a bunch of books from her, but that was it. In someones "free" box I grabbed a Commodore64 users guide. At another sale, my first Atari stuff of the season: a tangle of controllers - including: 1 pair of paddles 1 set Indy 500 driving controllers 1 Slik-stik joystick 1 Spectravision joystick and a pair of ti99 joysticks! All for $2 Also grabbed a number of $1 cds at various sales, including a copy of Flowers by the Stones. I didn't notice until I got it home that it was a CD/SACD hybred disc! SACD, or Super Audio CD discs are high resolution audio discs that only play in special players, which I have, so that's awesome. Will go great with my Let It Bleed SACD I own. That's it for yard sales today, I'll be back with my Craigslist find of the summer (so far!) in a bit!

DickNixonArisen
I have too many of them already... Correct. I would have also accepted "I wanted someone else to be able to experience the joy of VCS ownership"
EricDeLee
its okay though... I sent an email to the guy to buy the remaining stuff he has.... Hopefully I can grab it. Itchy Koala
Sorry for the blurness. Also this isn't really thrift but I've given up on the other pickups thread. I took my girlfriend to the mall today, we decided we were going to buy each other's things instead of our own (kind of like buying each other gifts or whatever). So in a way these games set me back around $200 Still a fun day though.
