orangest
From the last week or so... $3.99 "soft goods" bundle from Salvation Army. Battle Arena Toshinden is the Not For Resale version and C&C Red Alert has a bonus Resident Evil 2 manual inside; I sold a RE2 without a manual a few weeks ago. Such is life. The Japanese Mario Kart 64 was $1 from a random thrift. The PS1 games were a total of $5.96 at a Goodwill bookstore near my work. They have a bunch of Xbox, PS2 and 360 games for $.99, but as you might imagine they're all sports and very common titles. Found these at the neighborhood Goodwill. The Sewer Shark is sealed with a few small tears. When I brought them to the front, the cashier commented about how weird it was to see them, and that there were a few there the day before in the CD section (where I found Street Fighter II Turbo) including "some Woody Woodpeckers". So after I paid $5.99 each for those two I decided to mosey back to the CDs and take one more closer look... Got it for $2.99. I've now owned all three, though I sold the first two a while ago.
Seethransom
I got lucky on an auction that went for Thrift Store price. $25 (with shipping). http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FAtari-5200-Console-With-Game-%2F281173818351%3F_trksid%3Dp2047675.l2557%26ssPageName%3DSTRK%253AMEWNX%253AIT%26nma%3Dtrue%26si%3D8B6aDMqjbLjYy7F2Hde%25252BkSKfzu0%25253D%26orig_cvip%3Dtrue%26rt%3Dnc I only need the power supply. I'll have a box, even if it isn't perfect. I like the boots on the controllers. I need two dedicated for Space dungeon (don't need buttons, except start). The Frogger 2600 could be resold. If the console does not work, I need a controller cubby door. If the console works, I have a hunch it was sent to Atari for the VCS upgrade. The VCS is in the box, with the 2600 frogger. If you look under the console there is a sticker over the serial number, with a new number. Looks like their name was on the box, and a marking of 88. It's a gamble, but I know I can recover the money, and have the Power supply I need. Since we don't have good thrift stores, this is as close I get to a sweet find. I should have it tomorrow, or early next week.

+FujiSkunk
Lately I had been wanting a CRT television to connect the old systems to, something bigger than my trio of Commodore 1702's that weren't in a good position to accept anything other than the one computer connected to each. Then, this past week, I found a Sony Trinitron-based KV20FV300: It's a little over 10 years old, but that's pretty good for a CRT. It's even new enough to have one set of component inputs. More importantly, the picture looks great: nice and crisp, with no geometry or convergence issues. I can see why some people say the image is too dark, but apparently there's a hidden menu full of goodies that can solve that as well, among other issues. It isn't even all that heavy for a 20", so lugging it home and up on the table wasn't a problem. +FujiSkunk
BTW, what are you playing Mario on? Don't recognize it. That's a RetroN 3, capable of playing NES, SNES and Genesis games. It's a NOAC, but a pretty decent one as NOACs go.
SRGilbert
Well, the yard sale season is winding down in these parts. Haven't had time to post much of my finds this summer either, what little there was. The funny thing is that most of my best finds weren't even game stuff! Plus, I'm to the point where it's hard to find stuff I don't have, so I only buy game items it I think I can make a profit reselling it. Game stuff: Red Wii, one game, all hookups, Red Wiimote Plus with Nunchuch - $45.00 (yard sale) Nintendo 3DS - $45.00 Loose SNES Justifier Gun - $3.00 (yard sale) Sony PSP (fat) 100% complete in box, and like new - $40.00 (yard sale) Nintendo GBA-SP Black, case 2 games, accessories - $5.00 (yard sale) - Absolutely like brand new. Just wish it was a brighter screen model. Coleco Donkey Kong Junior Table Top - $20.00 - It's in fantastic condition too, (flea market) Mattell Battlestar Galactica Handheld (1979) - $7.00 - Again, top notch condition (antique store) Tomy "Daring Driver" Mini Arcade - $10.00 (antique store) Electronic Scrabble game - $5.00 - (yard sale) This one is weird, you still use an actual Scrabble board, but this acts as an opponent. Random Wii and PS2 games (yard sale) - $2-$3 each Sonic Pinball game from Tomy - $2.00 - I like pinball, I collect Tomy toys, and I'm a huge Sonic fan, what's not to love? This is actually the SECOND one of these I've bought this year, after never seeing one before. Sears Talking Computron with box and manual - I think from around 1985 - $1.00 works too! Tomytronic Tron game, 100% complete in box, and fantastic condition - $58.00 shipped - Ok, this was from Ebay, but still a hell of a deal! I've wanted one of these for years. It's a fun game too, which is probably why they are hard to find in good condition since kids actually played them. Except for a few odds and ends that was is for thrifty game finds this year. Now, on to Non- game stuff! Yamaha SHS-10 Keyboard from 1986, $20.00 - (yard sale) - Absolutely like new condition, probably never played, the strap was still wrapped up in plastic. This thing is super cool, and quite collectible as well, comparable ones go for $200-$250 on Ebay. Casio SK-1 Sampling Keyboard from 1985, 100% complete in box, all paperwork etc. - $7.00 (Thrift store) - Again, like the Yamaha, just perfect. I don't really even play keys (bass or guitar for me) but these are so much fun! The SK-1 was the first commercial sampling keyboard for the masses. Gibson Tenor Ukulele 1960 - $400 - (Craigslist) Ok, doesn't sound very thrifty, but this thing is AWESOME, and $400 was a STEAL. Make in Kalamazoo, MI, it's my first Gibson anything. And the find that has probably seen more use than anything above since we picked it up a few months back (except maybe the ukulele) A Zojirushi BBCCX20 Home Bakery Supreme Bread Machine - This caught my eye at a sale in a nice neighborhood. I had read bread machine reviews a few years ago and recalled this being a good brand. Looked it up on my phone real quick and confirmed that this was a $250 machine and was in brand new condition, with manual. Maybe the best $15.00 I've spent all year! We use it at least once a week, I even used it to make strawberry rhubarb jam just this evening.

MagnaFarce
Been a while since I've been to Savers. I popped in today and found some really exciting stuff. First time I've ever been there and had to go get a cart to hold all the finds.Grabbed some reel to reel tapes for future recording, the Warcraft II expansion, and Magix Music Maker (I don't even have a PS2, but it looked interesting) and thought I was doing quite good. Then I came across the Beta cleaning cassette, the projector, and the Casio keyboard. I was in heaven. There was also a boxed Commodore datasette for $10, but I passed on it because I already have one and the box was really janky and taped to hell and back again.Everything came out to be about $36.
Asaki
Nice find on the Casiotone. I was looking for one of those for a while, then I ended up finding a CT-360 at Goodwill for $20. Not quite as cheesy sounding as the MT-45/46, though.
+FujiSkunk
Those old keyboards go for a lot, it seems. A couple of weeks back I happened across a Yamaha PSS-270, my first keyboard and the first thing over a hundred bucks that I saved my pennies for. One hundred sounds, all of them cheesy '80s FM-synthy goodness. My jaw hit the floor when I saw what they fetch on eBay. I figure it's because the underlying hardware is capable of even more variety, which attracts the hackers and the circuit benders. That particular keyboard was in nice condition, but I've discovered that isn't always the case. I also have a couple of Casios, an MT-205 and an MT-520 (pretty much the same keyboard, except the 520 has a set of drum pads), both glitchy. I've about decided I'm going to carry a universal wall-wart with me when going thrifting, so I can test any keyboards before buying them. There are actually several models I remember from my childhood I wouldn't mind getting to play with again.
MagnaFarce
I still need to test it. I don't think I have the right power adapter, and I sure as hell don't have five D batteries lying around. I'll probably head over to Frys tomorrow and buy some batteries.
+FujiSkunk
I think a universal power adapter would be a better investment. They shouldn't be more than $20 or so, maybe a good bit less, and if you get a good assortment of tips, you can use it on a variety of things. Just check ahead of time what amperage/wattage the keyboard requires. It should say somewhere on the bottom. Any universal adapter that puts out at least that, comes with the right tip, and can be set to either polarity will be good.
DaytonaUSA
Got 1080 Avalanche for the gamecube for $1. It was the special walmart two disc version that had the mini DVD disc that had snowboarding footage set to game music.
Asaki
Yeah, definitely get a universal adapter, you will never regret it. The only thing I regret is that I can only plug it into one thing at a time.
DestinedCruz
Alright all of what you see here you'd be looking to pay at LEAST $280 on Amazon (Boxed TG16 and those games in their jewel cases)I got the lot for $150, and I can pay the guy $20 a week.Feels good man.

Seob
Picked up these 2 for 5 euro total. Only problem is the missing power supply. Have to go and check the place more frequent to see if the power supply turns up. The md player is a sony mz-r501, only picked it up to hear a md that i found years ago.
