If we simply leave pin 7 and 5 disconnected, wouldn't that remove the danger of voltage flowing back over pins 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6? My thinking is that if the multiplexer on the Genesis pad doesn't have power, how can it cause trouble by sending any voltage back? Why even connect the select and 5v line?
