Mac OS X users running 7800 emulation on Lion?

If so, what do you use??

 

I tried using SDLMESS, but man, there's ZERO documentation for it and I haven't been able to figure out how to get it working....

 

I did use MacMESS before and it worked amazingly well for me, but of course it was PowerPC-coded, which OSX no longer supports. Really don't want to dual-boot the iMac just for emulation...

Have you tried using QMESS Cat II as a front-end for SDLMESS? It works pretty well on 10.5 and an old G5. It is Universal for PPC/Intel and was just updated early in March.

I'm not sure if this works on Lion, but I've created a Wine version of Pro System for 7800 emulation. Maybe you could try that?

That actually exists? That would've made tweaking those sprites on B*nQ a bit easier.

I've never really got on with MESS, so for Atari gaming, I use native OSX versions of Stella, Atari800MacX and Handy (for Lynx) plus Wine versions of Pro System for 7800 and Project Tempest for Jaguar.

I do know of MacMESS but I never really used it due to it having an incorrect pallet for it's 7800 games.

 

I would be willing try a pro system emulator that works on a Mac. I know there's more than a few Mac users and developers that would want to use the pro system emulator on a Mac.
