We are capable of reproducing copies of Virtual Hampster, but we would never think to add it to our list of reproductions. Not only is the game not complete enough to warrant a release, the intellectual copyright holders have threatened legal action against anyone selling copies of the game. See this thread over on Unseen 64 for details http://www.unseen64....32x-unreleased/

I appreciate the copyright owner's desire to keep a hold on things, but it's a pity that people like that never seem to get around to doing something with the property, e.g. an actual release.

Of course, that's assuming the claims of an unreleased 99% complete prototype are indeed true...but if the claims are true, then a run of carts and/or Saturn discs (it sounds like it's the Saturn version that was just about done) would be very well received.

I am loving Mark's DarXide reproduction, this is awesome!

So let me cast out another hook here to see if I get any bites.

I have heard that with regards to Aliens vs Predator "A port for the Sega 32X was announced for a 1995 release, but was never published.[2]" and yet according to this Yahoo Answers thread where someone asked what good 32X games there are, they list Aliens vs Predator on there so was a version ever released?

If so, is it any good?

If so, can I get a repro?

So theres a guy on ebay selling for 100 a piece plus shipping.... arent these not allowed on ebay?

http://rover.ebay.co...sid=p4340.l2559

I don't think they are allowed. Reporting them seems to do little good though.

Are you guys the people that contact Ebay about people selling reproductions? If so why?

Shouldn't be a problem if you advertise it as such....just wondering why people do it?

FAQ:

Q: How much does each game cost?

A: We charge $40 shipped for one game to anywhere in the United States, and each additional game is $35 extra. Please add $5 for Canadian orders per game and $7 for all other international orders per game.

32x reproductions are $55 shipped anywhere in the United States. Please add an additional $5 for Canadian orders and $7 for all other international orders. There currently are no discounts for 32x reproductions.

Q: What is included with purchase?

A: You will receive a game as well as an official clam shell case, both fashioned with brand new artwork. We do not currently provide manuals for our reproductions.

Q: What games can you reproduce?

A: We can reproduce pretty much any game where there is a ROM currently available. This includes Translations and Prototype games. We will not reproduce games that are readily available for purchase though, so please don't ask for an authentic looking Outback Joey cart or something similar

Q: Can I provide my own artwork?

A: You sure can! We will gladly print insert or label art that you provide.

Q: How long does it typically take to receive a game?

A: Turn around time from the day of the order to the day the game ships will be roughly one week. Depending on some limiting factors (short on EPROMs, donors, etc.) it may take slightly longer, though this information will be given to you when a request is made.

Q: What carts and cases are used?

A: All reproductions will be made in official Sega or Acclaim cart shells unless the game was slated to be released by Electronic Arts. The same can be said for each clam shell case.

Q: What condition are the games and cases in?

A: Due to the age of the games and cases, light wear can be expected. We do our best to send the highest quality carts and cases we have available.

Q: Are the games tested before you ship them?

A: Yes! All games are tested in a model 3 Sega Genesis, though we can test on several other consoles (model 1, X'Eye, etc.) that we have available.

Q: Do I need to send you a donor cart for my reproduction?

A: We do not request (and actual don't allow) donor carts to be sent to us for reproductions. We provide all materials for the project.

Q: Who does work for these projects?

A: Almost all current art is made by our good friend DJShok. I had previously used my own art, but it was of far less quality of Shok's. All art is printed and cropped in house by Mark, Matt performs all soldering and programming.

Q: Do you consider trades for your reproductions?

A: The only thing we're interested in at the moment is any very good condition NES boxes we don't own (maybe manuals too). My collection list can be found here:

http://www.rfgenerat...n/collection.pl

Q: Why should we use you rather than another reproduction maker?

A: There are several reasons we believe you should chose us to make your next reproduction game:

- Matt and I have a vested interest in this great community and have been a part of it for many years. We want to provide a product that everyone will be thrilled with and will rest our reputations on it.

- We have one of the shortest turn around times for reproductions and we won't hold your money while you wait. Most other major reproducers take up to or over a month before the game is ready to be shipped to you, and they require payment up front.

- We are never further than a PM or email away and we are very willing to answer any and all questions. We will promptly answer all questions

- We charge a very competitive rate.

- We have access to prototype ROMs that NO other reproducers do. These unreleased games can only be reproduced by us until the ROM is made public.

- We will replace any game that fails to function correctly. Contact us and we will work with you to immediately correct the problem.

Please not that games will be added to this list frequently, so don't forget to check back often! Thanks for checking out the thread, we hope to be working with you in the future!

Could I request a Monster World IV reproduction cart unlike the photograph you've provided? I have some specific requests for what I'd like.

  • I want it to use the official translation from the new Virtual Console/XBLA/PSN release of the game (I can provide you with this ROM if you can't find it)
  • I'd like the boxart to be styled like a late European Mega Drive release, with the typical blue border
  • I'd like the back of the box to be styled like the Japanese box art for the game (an image of this can be found here - http://segaretro.org/File:MonsterWorldIV_MD_JP_Box.jpg )
  • Please don't stretch any artwork on either the box art or the cartridge sticker
  • Basing the cover on the Japanese one would suffice, but a more original one that uses official drawn artwork might be more interesting
  • Including authentic trademarks of a European Mega Drive game might be cool (for example, ELSPA age ratings on the back of the box, Sega/Westone licensing trademarks, etc.)
  • Most importantly, please ensure the cartridge will play on a European PAL Mega Drive

I'll link to some sources for artwork you might want to use for this-

Sorry for being so specific with my request, but since this is a luxury item that I can tailor to my own liking, I wanted to point out a few things that I would really like to see on it. I'd have provided my own artwork if I was confident in my skills, but seeing your previous work, I think you'd make a much better job of it than I would. I'll gladly provide any help I can in this process, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this request.

Thanks.
