fujisama
Hello everyone! I am new on this forum and I have a question for Vectrex specialists. I recently purchased a beautiful Vectrex (what a wonderful object). Among my games, there is the Mine Storm 2 cartridge, I understood that this game is quite rare. I try to estimate its value. According to you, what is its price ? Fuji Edited October 3, 2012 by fujisama
Jason Hay
I have seem them go for about $400.00 for the cart and CIB for $700.
fujisama
Wow Impressive... I've just found that link... http://www.raritygui...cordsPerPage=20 The game is loose, I don't have the overlay. About the overlay, do you think it's easy to find today (sold with the console) ?
Jason Hay
Minestorm 2 was sold on its own not with the system. The overlay unless its a reproduction would be extremely hard to find on its own. On the topic of reproduction it wouldn't increase the value any and only worth if you intro to play it. If that is the case you should probably play it on a multicart anyways to preserve such an expensive title.
Crazy Climber
$
fujisama
I thought that they sent the cartridge alone. Do you know what was the package sent by GCE ? Cartridge Cartridge + overlay Cartridge + box Cartridge + box + overlay Last question: do you know where can I find a Vecflash or something similar ? Mayhem
Minestorm II was sent out to people cart only. There's no box, manual or overlay for it. The manual and overlay for the game came with the actual Vectrex unit. As for value, the last one I saw sell was about 100 Euros. It has dropped in price in the last few years. Crazy Climber
I thought it was just a loose cartridge...I've never seen anything else besides that. *edit - Thanks mayhem for clearing that up By the way - 100 euros would be a pretty good deal
Jason Hay
ah guess what I saw before must have been a fake overlay. Sneaky buggers lol
Baloo
It's hard to determine a price for Minestorm 2. Doesn't show up enough. Edited October 5, 2012 by Baloo

3DOMan
If it has an "overlay, box, manual" then it's likely one of the fake reproductions floating around. There's a guy who sells them for $40, comes complete. The original was actually distributed on cartridge only. As far as the actual original game, the real story is this: Owners of Vectrex model 1 systems reached a certain level(Level 13 I think?) in the built-in minestorm game, and it would crash. Numerous people contacted the company about this issue, and as a result, a fixed version of the Minestorm game was distributed on cartridge to those who complained, free of charge. The cartridge simply says minestorm on the outside, but the bootup screen says "Minestorm II" This cartridge is just a fixed version of the built-in Minestorm game. Owners of Vectrex model 2 systems don't really need it, since model 2 systems already contain the fixed version of the game. The way you can tell whether you own a Vectrex model 1 or 2 is simple...model 2 systems have a 'space warp' animation between levels in Minestorm, and this animation is missing from model 1 systems. Model 2 systems may have a slightly quiter HUM than model 1 systems, but this is debatable. Now before determining the value of your game, you need to determine whether it's an original, or one of the $40 fake reproductions available on the internet. the-topdog
CIB for $700.00 ????????? It was just a cartridge, there was no box overlay or instructions... it was never CIB nor NIB.
