+grips03
Finally got past the building stage - only took 29 years since first playing this game I highly recommend using an arcade style joystick with this game. The stock 7800 controller is just impossible and Genesis pads is just not precise enough. I used an original Neo Geo controller
adam242
Use a Suncom Tac-2 or a Competition Pro...
DoctorTom
Do all these controllers plug into the 7800 joystick ports, or are they for emulators only?
Jinks
Plug into 7800.. Get a nes pad from golden axe converted for 2 button 7800 functionality. Scramble is a two button game. can be done with one as the missles and bombs would both shoot at the same time then.. +Yurkie
I offer a ball knob mod for the 7800 controller that makes it much easier to use. http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/198160-atari-2600-7800-hardware-modding-service-updated-117/
mmervine
I offer a ball knob mod for the 7800 controller that makes it much easier to use. http://www.atariage....ce-updated-117/ I can endorse Yurkie's mod for the 7800 controllers. Makes a big difference for playing Scramble. See my blog about controllers here: http://retrogameguy.com/2012/10/28/controllers
PSW
Has anyone played it using the Atari gamepad controller?
+grips03
I bought the Atari gamepad just for this purpose, but the gamepads are just not good for this game. BTW the Atari gamepads are not that good overall, but for Scramble's building stage the accuracy of a joystick is really needed.
sh3-rg
The Jaguar version suffers from a crappy d-pad as well, you simply *need* super accurate 8-directional movement for scramble, it's one game that is much more fun to play under emulation with a decent USB joypad. Stechmann
there is a newer version of Scramble now that does not have the flickery borders.
