Tom Cullen tells us that M-O-O-N spells...well, lots of different things, really. And the moon may be waning this week, but you wouldn't know it from looking at this week's charts, as the Sega CD RPG port Lunar 2 leads the PlayStation to the top.

Meanwhile, another double-O pairing holds court on the pre-NES chart, in the person of perennial performer Kaboom.

I'll post some mid-year stats soon!

Here are my times for this past week (July 1st to 7th)...

Commodore 64:

Wizball - 210 min. in 6 sessions

I didn't play any other games beside this. Usually the games lasted about 10-20 minutes, but then yesterday I changed my strategy somewhat by hiding the main character on the ground most of the time, and this yielded much better results... in my last game, which lasted over an hour, I completed 6 of the 8 levels.

RCA Studio II:

Bowling - 6 min.

Sharp MZ-700:

Eugea - 7 min.

Genesis:

Arcus Odyssey - 7 min.

ATP Tour Championship Tennis - 561 min.

Columns III - 27 min.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - 16 min.

Junction - 40 min.

No Escape - 86 min.

Beat ATP Tour Championship Tennis (at last), Chuck Rock, Toys (which I've beaten before), and Primal Rage (on difficulty 10 of 16).

I also beat the first 9 levels in Junction, won a few games of RBI 4, tried to figure out the obscure Flashback-esque game No Escape, and played a few co-op games with my other half.

As Roger Daltrey once sang, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." Last week's revolutionaries are this week's establishment figures, as Lunar 2, the PlayStation, and Kaboom hold on to their respective spots on the charts. Heck, even the #2 spots on each chart are the same.

Very busy week again, and another early bird post, because I'll be on the road over the weekend:

Atari 2600:

Demon Attack: 85 minutes

The HSC was again my only chance to squeeze a bit of gameplay into my timetable. Some time in September, Paddle Weeks are starting. I think I asked that already: You gonna join us, Atarian7?

Cix - 80 minutes

Galaxian - 120 minutes

Bankruptcy Builder - 80 minutes

Pac-man Collection - 60 minutes

Mouse Trap - 25 minutes

I have been recklessly addicted to Colecovision lately. It's a good thing I've got a tuned up Yurkievision which can handle all the playing time!

Here are my times for this past week...

Colecovision:

Bankruptcy Builder - 52 min.

Shunting Puzzle - 55 min.

Commodore 64:

Wizball - 243 min. in 5 sessions

Online (non-eligible):

Railroad Shunting Puzzle - 17 min.

This week, I continued my Wizball sessions, where the individual games got longer in average... there were sessions with just a single game in it.

Then I got inspired by some Colecovision games originally played by WispFollower... Shunting Puzzle and Bankruptcy Builder, which are both fairly new homebrew games. These are original games, not ports from arcade games or such. However, inspired by Shunting Puzzle, I looked for similar online games and found one called Railroad Shunting Puzzle, which I tried as well. It has far more levels than the Colecovision version, that's for sure. But still the two Colecovision games I played are solid and worth playing, although some of the graphics were used for both games.

Beat Chester Cheetah: Wild Wild Quest on all three difficulties, and started trying to figure out David Crane's Amazing Tennis.

Atari Jaguar:

Primal Rage - 45 min.

Nintendo 64:

California Speed - 45 min.

Sega Saturn:

Dragon Force - 1490 min.

1490 minutes?! That has to be a record for one week. homerwannabe might have played Galaxian more in one week.

I'm not sure.
