Turbo Laser Lynx
I recently bought some games from telegames. In the package there was a small add about telegames´ lynx games printed in 1993. There is boxart and a screenshot of a lynx game I´ve never heard or read of: the Guardian - storm over doria. It seems to posibly be an rpg. Does anyone know anything about this game? How far it was in production? Is there a possibility to get Telegames to finish it? etc...?
chris_lynx1989
this is still on hold at telegames.it was going to retail for $80-100 dollars for a 512k cart with lithium battery backup.battletoads is another that is on the back burner there.they had three or four that they had thoughts of marketing for good old lynx in the past.bummer. That wasn't the original plan for the game. The game was going to be originaly released in stores, when the Lynx and Atari were still alive. My guess is that it probably would have cost around $49.95 though, which is on the high end for Lynx games. You are correct in your post though, but that was after the Lynx was dead at retail and Telegames released Raiden and Fat Bobby. Telegames set that price, because that is the amount of money they would need to charge per cart if they were only going to sell a couple hundred. After the Jag and Lynx releases didn't sell too well, I think that Telegames decided that it wouldn't be worth it to finish Guardians. chris_lynx1989
yes, you're right.terry grantham himself told me they had other stuff to come, only a "groundswell" of support from the lynxers would get them to do more stuff.this is why i started the "lynx coalition" back in jan.1996 to get lynxers to write in and show their support for new releases.they did release raiden and fat bobby after this in july 1997.also hyperdrome saw the light of day in '99 or 2000.now they are re-releasing old lynx games to buy.i would rather see battletoads or the guardians or other games that atari did not release for the lynx-like strider 2 that tiertex finished for it.we could see some new stuff pop up from them again at telegames.is this just wishfull thinking?could be.we'll wait and see.we did a whole of waiting like this with atari at the reins for lynx.hmmmm, nothing really changes it just stays the same.lynx up all on the new release of centipede.its something. cryptik76
Ooh, Tiertex. Now they've made some good handheld games. I'll bet Strider 2 would have been one of the best side-scrollers for the Lynx system if it had been released.
+davidcalgary29
Well, geez, I'd gladly send in my $50 for a new Telegames cart. I keep asking them for information about possible upcoming releases, but they always coyly evade the question. Perhaps it's time for another Lynx rally? cryptik76
I'd pay $50 for Strider 2, definitely. As long as it reasonably resembles the arcade Strider (and not the NES version).
Godzilla
Strider 2 was not a capcom product, but was instead a computer game. I have the old Amiga version. It really sucks, imho. Not very 'strider' at all. The original is MUCH better.
chris_lynx1989
let us do another lynx rally folks.jaguar too if you want.i tried in the past and it seemed to help a bit.what can one hurt now?what have we got to lose?we may get some new item that they are still sitting on there.i'm starting to get tired of seeing new lynx re-releases from telegames.what do i want with atari lynx games from the past now with the telegames name stuck on them?we need some of the unreleased lynx stuff out now not re-releases of the past we can still buy places with the atari name on it.seems a little silly to me!i don't much care for the icd-style cards as it is! i've never had an original lynx cart fail yet.my icd card version of fat bob- by died though for no reason.all i can now get is the title screen to come up and stay.no matter what lynx unit i put it in.has anyone else had one of these fail??just curious folks.my raiden still works for some reason.that is rather strange.let's rally together folks!lynxers unite! Telegames has just announced a 20% sale, so your suggestion has been timed perfectly. I think I'll buy either "Bubble Trouble" or "Raiden", and back up my whiny requests for some newer releases with a little cash. So just who should the target of our rally be? Telegames? Songbird? (although Carl already has a few tricks up his sleeve, and does what he can willingly) Video 61? Best Electronics?
chris_lynx1989
tell telegames, video 61,best electronics,b & c computervisions and song- bird.they all have new lynx stuff to release.some is coming and some is on the back burner now.choose one or choose them all!songbird is asking for release input now.carl was just asking what games folks want to see him release.unreleased games from atari or others?stuff songbird is still thinking about releasing?tell carl and the three true atari dealers we still have left in the u.s.a.-b & c,video 61,and best electronics.i don't really count telegames as an atari dealer.they used to be.your best bet might be the four i mentioned.telegames had a couple of lynx releases left up their sleeve too.i would not totally rule them out.they could still release a new title.they've done it before!-chris

I was going to purchase a few titles, but was put off by their $8 / title shipping charge to Canada.
