Sikor
Some times ago I saw great movie - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. When I heard music - i know, that I know it. But from here...? Yes, in International Karate / World Karate Championship is cover of great music composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto. José Pereira
There is a Thread about A8 musics that are, indeed, real commercial ones somewhere on AOnline and I think also here. Although not a POKEY masterpiece and, of course, not possible there's my old time favourite group DEAD CAN DANCE with their interpretation of the Middle Age song "Saltarello" in Miecze Valdgira game. Gorfy
I saw Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence at the theater when it came out. I remember walking outside in the falling snow afterwards, while that theme played over again in my head. To this day I can feel the bittersweet quality of that experience whenever I hear, or think of, Sakamoto's music. Thanks for the post, Sikor. Mark Wright
Jury is still out to my mind whether this was the inspiration for the soundtrack to a C64 space-age budget title (while we got "Knight Tyme" music instead.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDfmLWPpJVc

morelenmir
I seem to recall an episode of "Magnum P.I." that had a cover of the Sidewinder music of all things!
