I love E3. Not only do you get the big news on the next consoles, but you also get the added excitement of new games a bit off the radar. This one looks like a lot of fun: a celebration of all things Namco!!!

PAC-MAN also returns this late summer with a free title update for PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system, Steam and Windows 8. PAC-MAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION DX + upgrades one of 2010’s most celebrated downloadable titles with improved leaderboard functionality, in-game achievements and medals, as well as access to additional DLC mazes, music and graphics including classic DIG DUG and RALLY-X sprites. Players will chomp through bright neon mazes at blistering speeds in this modern and frenetic PAC-MAN experience.

 

 

If I read that correctly if you already own the original DX you'll get "improved leaderboard functionality, in-game achievements and medals" as a free title update and then you'll be able to purchase the following as DLC:

 

All You Can Eat Add-on Pack contains all the additional content created for Pac-man Championship Edition DX +, including 4 new courses, 3 new skins and 2 new BGM.

• BIG EATER COURSE: A new challenge with more ghosts on screen that you can eat and in which it will be vital to manage your way out while still powered-up.
  
• MOUNTAIN COURSE: A technical mountain-like course in which ghosts might take shortcuts to catch up with you.
  
• CHAMPIONSHIP III & HIGHWAY II COURSES: Highly popular Highway and Championship II maps redesigned for an increased challenge in which using bombs strategically will be crucial to beat top scores.
  
• RALLY-X SET: PAC-MAN’s automotive makeover! New skins, characters and BGM that will turn all your courses into Rally-X races.
  
• DIG DUG SET: Dig Dug tries it Pac-man style! New skins, characters and BGM that will turn all your courses into Dig Dug adventures.
  
• PAC IS BACK SET: Transport all your courses into the world of "PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures"!
  
• PAC STEPS BGM: Enjoy new organic-sounding music centered on real instruments or electronic music built around distorted synth tracks.

This makes me hopeful the DLC will be like $5 for those who have already purchased PCE-DX.

This is out today on XBLA. For people who already own the original DX game there is some DLC. Each individual item in my previous post can be had individually for $2 each or $8 for the All-In-One pack.

well, it's been a while, but the CE DX 2 should be out in a couple of hours.

 

looking forward to it.. will try out the pc version, and the xbox one at a a friends.

 

lots of new changes.

 

yes, it's dumbed down even more (bumping ghosts?), but still looks like a lot of fun.
