Omega-TI
Does anyone know of any links to Christmas music in XB for the TI? There is still a couple of days before Christmas to post a link, or upload a program to this thread.

What's the holiday, without a little Christmas music coming out of the old TI? I downloaded them and will check them out after work. Thanks again! unhuman
There was Woodstock's Christmas by Ray Kazmer, who was a TI Buddy of mine back in the day. Anyhow, I certainly don't have it anymore, but the story he told was that he got permission from Charles Schultz to do it. He was only permitted to use Woodstock.
RobertLM78
Hey, THANKS for sharing these with everyone. What's the holiday, without a little Christmas music coming out of the old TI? I downloaded them and will check them out after work. Thanks again! You're welcome buddy! That was a good idea to find some Christmas music . There was Woodstock's Christmas by Ray Kazmer, who was a TI Buddy of mine back in the day. Woodstock is great - too bad you don't have that still. Odd that he was only allowed to use Woodstock.
unhuman
I'll reach out to Ken Gilliland to see if he has a copy of it. He was the one who informed me that Ray had passed. http://shawweb.myzen.co.uk/stephen/timram22.htm says: Your scribe took along a parcel of disk and tape goodies and brought them home. One visitor refused the extremely cheap (free) disk copy of Ray Kazmer's revised Woodstock's Christmas program as he already had the first version (1987) - in which Woodstock is left crying. In the revised version (1988)- too big for cassette alas - Woodstock receives a surprise gift.
+mizapf
Reminding of my contribution to Christmas music, as I already posted three weeks ago: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/218452-99389958-discussion-forum/?p=2877365 This disk image contains my XMAS program for Geneve OS.

GratedTopping
A 'non-surprise' "Woodstock Christmas"? I've never heard of that before. Can someone direct me where to obtain it?
jes02ade
Man oh man I finally found Woodstock and it runs under Classic99. I've been lookingh for this for years! Just watched the tape of Fest West '88 in Las Vegas and the demos were the best, especially the one Ray Kazmer did. What a great programmer (and person) he was. I will never forget when we pulled one over on the master prankster! Please let me know if there are any other videos out there. Cheers. Omega-TI
bump Great minds think alike... you beat me to it! I wonder what the gang will come up with this year? Honestly, I'm hoping to see at least one F18A entry, (wouldn't that be amazing) which might be difficult because most of these Christmas entries are usually in TI Extended BASIC. But now that I think about it, so many people now have FlashROM99's... so if one was written by a "Forth God" in either fbForth or TurboForth, the rest of us mere mortals could still run and watch it on real Iron. --- Heck why not open it up to EVERY language this year? blakespot
Does anyone have videos of the Geneve demo or even Woodstock? Im putting my 6th years running Christmas demos blog post together and Ive ever only had one TI example to point to, as I recall. bp
blakespot
Here's another program using the v9938 on the Geneve. I uploaded the disk image here: http://www.mizapf.de/ti99/xmas.dsk. Just download the disk and use it in MESS or copy it to a real floppy disk and run it on the real Geneve. Start the program by entering XMAS on the GeneveOS prompt. The current directory must contain all the files on the image. This is a TIC program which features - using G6 mode and video commands in C - playing 3-voiced music by notes from a list Have fun. Does anyone have a copy of this Geneve Xmas demo disk by Mizapf? Thanks. (Post from 2013) bp
+mizapf
Here you are ... You have to run XMAS. The files are the music files in my own format. Strangely, I have the impression that the music is painfully slow in MAME. I'll check with my real hardware next weekend. You can modify the speed with the "Tempo" parameter in the files. xmas.dsk
blakespot
Thanks! This is my first time using a Geneve (via MAME) and I see the swan but not sure how far I need to go beyond that. Will the disk autoboot? Thanks.
+mizapf
Tip: Use my TIImageTool to create a boot disk for the Geneve. Then let it boot with it. The XMAS image will not boot; you can put it in DSK2, or you can copy its contents on the boot disk. Or: You can create a hard disk with TIImageTool, e.g. with 20 MiB capacity, make it bootable, and copy the contents into a directory. Maybe you want to do this one after another, to get some experience ...
sparkdrummer
If you go to the YESTERDAYS NEWS thread and look at post 93 you'll find 4 dsk's of Christmas music I uploaded.
Opry99er
One more little slice of Christmas pie to add to any compendium that may be forthcoming. Something I put together a couple years ago to hide in the Christmas Demo as a Christmas/Easter Egg. Omega-TI
I thought I'd give this a little nudge to the top considering the time of year. With all the new tech that has come out in the past couple of years, I'm wondering if Christmas 2018 will bring something new in the seasonal music department. Maybe a compilation cartridge image or even a new song or two, who knows.
