kabkollector
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I recently completed this project. Built it from scratch. I've converted gutted arcade cabinets in the past, but I never did anything like this before. I think it turned out well. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Ransom
It's good if you're the sort of person who likes really nice things, I suppose.
Goochman
Nice job - only thing I would change is adding a bit more flair to the marquee over the top. The white background with black lettering is a bit boring for such a colorful machine!

The white background with black lettering is a bit boring for such a colorful machine! Ha! I was gonna say the opposite...I'd have made the marquee black with white letters to match the sides, and that would be even more boring! Very nice piece! +grips03
looks great! any plans to add a control panel?
Charlie_
The marquee is awesome. Very nice. Does a heavy sixer fit in there?
keilbaca
Very awesome. The only thing I would have done extra, would be to make the cabinet a little taller, add an arcade control panel with Sanwa parts, and an arcade Atari spinner modified into the paddle control. The fire button on the paddle would be left if I remember correctly, and you can make it all one port without needing to unplug the cable. strudders
Lovely work. Great finish on the cab - looks very professional ! I think it looks great with the Atari exposed too. The TV picture looks very crisp Composite converted ?

I’d probably try to also work in button layouts for Asteroids and maybe even Decathlon/Track&Field. I’d also make sure there was a clean and easy way to connect standard CX-40’s to play games like Frostbite that suck with arcade controls. Very neat project nonetheless! Master Phruby
I like it!. The most obvious thing you need is a Harmony cartridge. If the Atari is going to be shown, swap out the 4 switch woody for a Vader model. It will look better in that table top. Otherwise, I would build the guts of the Atari inside the cabinet and put the switches under the monitor. Then use some arcade joystick, button and spinner for the controls built into the cabinet.

YANDMAN
Thats pretty nice, ive considered something similar myself, but i would go with wood grain sides and a rainbow inspired marquee, probably add some copyright and trademark writing here and there to make it look like a legitimate display piece.
