Lynxpro
Or the head of Atari Games' Considering the Tramiels thought it wise to re-release the 7800 in 1986 without first securing the rights to the red-hot "Atari" arcade games of the time, I'd say it was definitely their strategic blunder. I wasn't there and neither were you, so why make assumptions about things we weren't personally involved in?
Stun Runner 87
Tramiel was the the greatest, most dedicated video game mastermind and marketer of all time. From 1986 to 1990, the 7800 console released a whopping 49 games in 4 years...........wow!
AtariBrian
What about this game , even dumbed down this would be great to see on the 7800 .

Can't remember whether Elevator Action was supposed to have been released for the 5200 or 7800 but I would've liked to have had it.
Jaynz
AtariBrian, are you going to ask for Skyrim next? There's a reason, as you well know, that 'game port idea' threads are a bit frowned on.

Both systems. The Atari 7800 version according to DP was designed by Peter F., but there is no prototype found yet. The 5200 version was designed by Joe Capson. Joe thought the title was never burned on an Eprom.

And he didn't take a copy during the great Atari Inc hardware liberation during the Trammel Tech acquisition? The horror, the horror. Lynxpro
I wish PMP would of purchased atari in 1984. PMP? Philips? They wanted 100% ownership and Warner only wanted to sell 75%. Needless to say, it would've been interesting. Atari Coin/Games arcade machines probably would've prominently displayed the Philips and/or Magnavox logo under the display area, for one. Or maybe you meant Philip Morris. Well, then, James Morgan would've felt more at home. We'd probably have Atari branded e-cigs right now!
