MFM Hard Drive replacement

How did things eventually work out?

What if you did not copy one drive to it, rather just use it as an existing hard drive? Work fine?

Are you misunderstood my comment I formatted the drive and then started copying data to it from my old drive by using the copy utility in the Western Digital personality card utilities and it seems to corrupt and get bad sectors after copying just a few files over. I am working with the guy that makes them to see if we can work out what the issue is. The funny thing is is that if formats fine without any errors and there should never be any bad sectors this is all virtual anyway. I will let you know what else I come up with I haven't had a lot of time to mess with it since October.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I did not understand the "how" you were making a copy of the other drive. I thought you were doing something more along the lines of a full track read creating an image of the original drive and then got the errors using that image. Now, it makes sense.

Keep us updated if the issues get resolved.
