Guest
Hi hoping someone can advise. I have a working stfm with an Xtra ram 4mb upgrade. However, on returning to the machine after a few months it doesn't do anything on power-up. Once I disconnect the xtra ram all is fine and it boots without problems. is it simply a case of faulty ram? or are there specific tests i can carry out to identify the cause of the problem? i'm assuming it could be any of:- ram upgrade module, simms, cables, upgrade connection on mobo any help appreciated
GadgetUK
Could be faulty SIMM, or bad connection to the MMU (most likely). There are a couple of 74 logic chips usually sat on the MMU board, there's a chance of a fault there but it's more likely RAM or MMU connection.
