Thomas Jentzsch
Is there a repository of songs or beats for Paul Slocum's Sequencer Kit 2.0 available somewhere? I know quite a lot of demos and games are using Paul's song player, so it would be probably a good idea to exchange ideas and sounds. +SvOlli
I never found any source code, only binary ROMs.
+SpiceWare
You can find the driver(songplay.h) and music data(song.h) for Druid Chip in the Medieval Mayhem source. The driver has been slightly modified from the original so the music will play at the correct speed for both NTSC and PAL frame rates. Search for COMPILE_VERSION to find the IF/ELSE/ENDIF block the playback speed.
Thomas Jentzsch
Thanks for the link, Darrell. Interesting modification for PAL/NTSC speed. I have wondered about the same problem lately and modified Paul's driver to use fractional math here. Which also allows very fine tuning of the music speed, but makes it a bit more complicated to have other stuff in sync with music. There are a few other changes, mainly for space efficiency and a minor bug fix. When it is done, I will post it here.
+SpiceWare
Erik Ehrling made that change after hearing the music in the PAL version. Knowing what I know now, I'd have made the PAL version of Medieval Mayhem a PAL60 build. Edited March 12, 2015 by SpiceWare
