KeeperofLindblum
A few months ago I decided to buy and try and fix old video game consoles. In retrospect... This was a pretty big mistake. I bought a lot, ended up with more than I could possibly do, managed to get many running but others were unfixable (IE all those random consoles and game stuff I gave away on the free thread) That isn't the point though! Point is to show off some of the work I've done and how terrible I feel at painting (although they don't look THAT bad). I am also open to tips and suggestions for future work as well as giving out any tips from what I've learned in my experience. Here's a few of the main images to show. My first attempt to paint a SNES! Went really well minus the Eject Button. (Bit of a story there) My second attempt at a SNES paint job! It went better than the first and dubbed... IRON MAN SNES! 8U Then I painted a few Game Boy and Game Boy Advance shells. (Only have pictures for these two at the moment.) My personal Game Boy Color with a fancy glass screen and everything! A Game Boy Advance Shell that's part of a "work in progress". A Sega Genesis controller I painted on a whim. Too bad the controller doesn't work well... And today's latest creation!... A Kingdom Heart's themed NES. (Don't ask why Kingdom Hearts got involved, it just did.) Also features a fancy Purple LED power light! Here's the gallery with the rest of the images associated with this project ------> Project Dreamfall (Don't ask why I call it that... I don't know.) Biggest tip I offer now? Be patient with paint. Just because it feels and looks dry doesn't mean you won't leave several fingerprints in it as you attempt to move it. -_- Edited March 12, 2015 by KeeperofLindblum
7800fan
Dang nice paint jobs!!! I may need to do something. How about purple Adventurevision? Or Tutorvision and its icky light blue cart to better match brown and black? A few months ago I decided to buy and try and fix old video game consoles. In retrospect... This was a pretty big mistake. PSX/PSOne turns up very often at local Goodwill and Salvation Army for under $5 (I pay up to 10 with original AV cable and controller) and 9 out of 10 times it has bad laser. $5 on eBay and it's working but now I have around 30 working PSX and 6 PSOne. I'll probably sit on these for 20 years when PSX/PSOne becomes rare then maybe it'd be worthwhile to sell. Like how I used to find many Atari 2600 consoles everywhere cheap but now it's rare and eBay seems to go around $50.
Clint Thompson
I'm not particularly fond of the gold color in general but that Gensis controller in gold looks great!

Unfortunately the game didn't ever work... Thankfully only cost me $5. I'm not particularly fond of the gold color in general but that Gensis controller in gold looks great! Yeah, I painted the controller on a whim and was REALLY surprised at how awesome it came out. I have enough paint to do so much more... but I've run out of material to actually paint now.
