+atari2600land
So I just got Super Burnout. I find it odd that there's no music. The sound effects play, but no music. I was on the title screen when i noticed this. So I go into Options and then Music Test. I select a few different songs to play. They're all silent. Did I get a defective cartridge, or is there some trick to get the music to play?

sirlynxalot
My copy came (used) this way as well, I think rather than switching off the music, the previous owner had adjusted the music volume to 0 in the in-race options that you get to with a combination of the pause button and one of the action buttons. Likewise my tempest cartridge had the music switched off. What's up with these previous owners, the music is part of the game and its certainly not bad in either of these titles!
+madman
Not trying to be a smart ass, but there are scans of many manuals here on AA: http://atariage.com/system_items.html?SystemID=JAGUAR&ItemTypeID=MANUAL
+atari2600land
I went to the manual and it doesn't mention this. Perhaps I missed it?
phoenixdownita
Happens to everyone, jag carts with their EEPROM allow savings of settings and then one forgets.
+save2600
I went to the manual and it doesn't mention this. Perhaps I missed it? Looked myself and isn't there (the enable/disable by pressing 0 option). But… as "standards" go, Jaguar game standard is that pressing 0 disables/enables music. Willard
technically page 14 does explain how to enable the music. While paused, you can adjust the music volume, FX volume, or voice volume by pressing the A, B or C buttons respectively. Even if it had been previously disabled with 0, visiting that screen will enable the music. I think it's kind of weird that the music volume can't be changed in the options menu before you start the game, especially when there's a music test screen though.
