Does anyone know if the 16K 800's (like the above) shipped with 1 x 16K board or 2 x 8K? Also, any idea when Atari stopped using tin contacts and switched to gold? jacobus
Is there any significant difference between 800 motherboards? I have a revision 9 with white/light grey cartridge slots and a rev A with black ones...

I don't know what my 17/80 800 came with though, so I can't answer. If you read through this whole thread you might find such details which did not go into the summary list. ClausB
I've migrated the list to Google Sheets for easier maintenance. See post #1. https://atariage.com/forums/topic/242227-calling-all-800s/ Please check your entries for accuracy, in case I made errors in transcription or copy/paste. For those of you with ??/?? dates, please try to find the 3-digit date code, either stamped in ink on a label or imprinted in the plastic case, rear underside. Please post any corrections/additions here. Edited September 26, 2020 by ClausB
StickJock
I did a quick scan of the serial numbers after sorting by that column, and I think that these two are the closest siblings: 08/83 eBay/santoscork 800 NTSC 449216 083 08/83 tep392 800 NTSC 449281 083 AW 470545-2-24 Only 65 apart, they almost certainly share a birthday! ? Clark Otodus
Just got mine within the last 2 weeks, so I haven't played around with it too much yet. Supposedly from a former Atari employee too, which is nice as the ram was maxed out, lol.
Preppie
Week 24 1981 Pal machine. Not sure when they started shipping to UK but this seems like a fairly early one. It had 1 cased 16k and 2 uncased, so maybe bought as 16k and upgraded. Edited November 17, 2020 by Preppie

Nice, did you also say that it has screws rather than twist tabs on the lid too? that would indicate it being an earlier model
Preppie
It has tabs. The 48k machine I originaly bought in early 1983 also had tabs (plus all cased ram), not sure when they changed that or if my machine had been in the shop for a long time - they'd started heavily discounting them at that point, in preparation for the XL launch. Also has a Hi-Tek keyboard
ApolloBoy
Yeah I think early 1983 was the transition point for that, mine was built in February '83 and it has both the "sealed" expansion door and uncased RAM and ROM cards.
